Recommend a 40 grille

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by prefect20, Oct 29, 2010.

  1. One of our club members is getting ready to start building his '40 ford deluxe.

The next item on the list is a deluxe grille.

Can anyone recommend the best supplier and parts.

The car will be subject to British weather.

    Thanks

  2. I've had a Drake grill on my 40 for many years. Through lots of miles and lots of weather it's holding up very well.

  3. Andy's not afraid to drive his '40 anywhere in any weather. If that Drake grill has held up that well for him, it's a good one. Don't forget to get one of Drake's latest complete catalogs. It's chock full of great info and lots of other '40 parts. Your friend will find it invaluable.....Don.

  4. i've used several of the Vintique grilles and they worked fine too

Bob Drake hands down - don't even think of any other. My Vintique is starting to get pimples - and that's in sunny So Cal....

My DeLuxe grille is Bob Drake I bought 20 years ago. Be sure and ask if he has them "in stock" and "ready to ship" OR will it be a back order. Dick Spadaro (HAMBER) and stand up guy also sells 40 grilles.

I've got a Drake on mine and have no complaints at all. If I were buying new, I would go through Dick Spadaro just because he has helped me (and so many others) with lots of tech advice and I think he's cool.

The Drake item is every bit as nice as anything Henry made; probably better.

I've put Bob Drake grilles on my '40 and '41. Pleased with both. I bought mine from All Ford Parts in Campbell Ca. Surprisingly they were $100 CHEAPER than buying from Drake. Go figure. Look under www.allfordparts.com
