g'day guys, just need a little help.out in the shed today wiring up turn signals on the '31 coupe.it's still banger powered 6 volt positive ground. i fitted up one of those chrome vintique switches, all pretty straightforward, soldered connections, all pretty neat for a rough ***** like me. i tested them out and all i have is a solid light (not flashing)coming on.i pulled the flasher unit of my '33,which i know works but same prob.maybe bad earth?but why would the globes glow. cheers, thommo.
http://www.oldplymouths.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=210 take a look at this... I had the same problem! Actually, it turned out to be a simple fix!! I hope it will help you!
thanks for the input.the lights are the small rodlights,i just checked the globes and they're the 6v 1 cp (vintique globes)standard single fillament. i changed over the globes just in case and cleaned all earth contact points.the front lights are mounted through a front hole in the ch***is(car is a hiboy)and the rears are mounted to the body(very rear, underneath).still the same prob.
keith, the flasher unit is a 6v vintique, part no; A-13350-6V. 32CP. not sure if its neg or pos ground.
