Howdy Fellas- I've seen this trim piece on a couple of cars and really dig it but I can't figure out what it is, do any of you guys happen to know? Any help would be awesome!

    Thanks,

  2. The piece dividing the white from the other color looks like the hockey stick from a Stude, Lowey coupe.

Sorry I should have been more specific, yes the piece at the bottom splitting the Copper and the White. What year you reckon?

I don't think its a olds nick, it looks too straight. The olds has a curve in it, like a sweeping curve. Anyone else???

I'm not certain that this is the source of the trim you've seen, but I think it could be made to work: '55 Pontiac, turned upside down and backwards. Obviously, it would have to be shortened / cut in a couple of places. I'm not sure if the curve at the door top would create an insurmountable problem on the flatter rear quarter panel:

Thanks man! I think you're right, I did not think it was the olds because it looks very straight and the olds has a swooping curve to it. Do you know how difficult it is to cut and weld that trim? I don't have any clue on customizing trim.

I've never done it myself, but the body guy who did the work on my shoebox sectioned one piece of trim on it. He matched the cut ends very carefully and then silver soldered the pieces together. I'm aware that guys sometimes modify stainless trim by welding, but the material is very thin and I imagine a high level of welding skill would be necessary.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

The part on the door, and fender may very well be Pontiac, but the quarter piece kinks where it meets the door piece. It doesn't really flow into the door piece. it may be a section of the same pontiac trim, or it could be from a different G.M. car of the same era.

I think I might go with a 1955 pontiac starchief 2dr trim and have someone customize it.

    Thanks Again Guys!

Could be, but I don't think so. The quarter trim on the Plymouth doesn't come to as sharp a point as the Pontiac, and the trim on the Chev is very sharp at the front.

Ya don't think it could have been modified some...???

'56 & '57 DeSoto also has a similar trim piece...

The Pontiac trim piece had one helluva curve at the top of the door...what I'm seeing on the Kustom is a flatter piece...
