Here is my attempt at building my 27 T coupe. The body I have been hanging onto for 6 years. I am 21 now so 6 years is a long time to me... I don't have a whole lot of parts right now so I am making do with what I have. Here are some pics of what I have done so far and I just started working on it in spare time 10 days ago. If anyone has any helpful criticism or comments for me please give it to me. I have plans for a 241 Hemi in it and everything else from there is kinda not set in stone yet. If it is not the taste for some of you guys please keep the rude comments to yourself. I did'nt make this thread to be put down. Thanks
Do you have your front & rear axles, and wheels & tires yet?...always helpful to have those on hand during mock-up so you can figure ride height and wheelbase...that way, you won't have to re-do your frame 2 or 3 times... ...I love heavily chopped T coupes, they look sinister... ...the only thing I can see so far that "I" would change, is the front Z looks out-of-place on the outside of the firewall...it should be concealed behind it, in the toe boards...
I do have my rear end but I don't have my tires yet. The front axle is mocked up but no spring. I know what sizes of everything I am getting so i am building it around those demensions. Once I get that Hemi in those frame rails it will take the attention away from that Z
The hemi will not hide bad fabrication. Like Mr. G***ser said it would look much better with the Z moved back into the toeboard area.(behind the firewall) You asked for help and here it is. Now is the time to make the fix. I realize your young and this is your first build so take the time to do this right and you will be much happier in the end. You waited this long to get started. What's a lil' longer to do it right? Patience gr***hopper.
Thanks for the constructive criticism. I am now considering moving it back to change that look. This is not my first build I have done a few before. This is just the first time doing it specifically this style.
I hope you are not any taller than about 5 foot 6 inches. My T is chopped 8 inches and channeled 3 inches. At 6 feet tall, I have about 3/4 inch of head clearance. Big bumps do give me a head ache........bigger bumps have drawn blood
21 huh,.... yep, keep it up, this ought to be a cool build......and "listen" ........ you are getting constructive criticism.... Hope to meet ya some time, soon.....we're almost neighbors
yeah I am open to all of the constructive criticism I can get. I hope to have the car done for the Lonestar Roundup 2011... I havent been working on it for a few days because I traded building a frame for a 31 ford coupe for a running Hemi and trans adapter. So I am getting the frame done so I can really call the Hemi mine!!
