I used to have a '59 caddy and always had a wacky idea that never surfaced.

I wanted to build a small trailer that was made with the rear clip of another '59 caddy. That way you would see two sets of fins flying by. Now i want a trailer for truck made of a spare bed.

Ive searched for more original ideas but cant find any info.

Does anyone know what im talking about? id love to see some pics of the direction others went with.

Here is one i found recently:

I have a 58 Mercury pick-up trailer, it's got dents and bad paint and people always try to buy it off of me when I use it!

That's cool, do the side doors open on the trailer?

My dad wanted to build one like that for my 49 Fleetline!

Yep, the side doors and trunk all open. The front panel appears to be the hood from a 70's car with some angle iron bracing behind it.

That 59 cad idea has been done. I have a 59 cad that had a matching trailer, the back half of another 59. My father in law built it about 25 years ago. it was quite the sight and a bitch to drive (poorly balanced trailer, negative tongue weight) We sent it last year to Germany. I'll look around for the Craiglist pics.

That is really cool, a good use for an otherwise useless Metro too!
