Hello H.A.M.B.sters, I've been thinking about what to do with the grill on my '52 Olds. I love the bullets on the '53 Caddy's, see attached pic of 1953 Cadillac Series 62 sedan, and would like to put them on my Olds. I'm just wondering if anyone has seen this done and if you have any pics. The Caddy bullets look pretty big so I'm also wondering if they'd even fit without any major alterations to my current stock Olds grill. I'm hoping I can just pull off the Olds bumper guards and replace with the Caddy guards/bullets. I'm still new to customising, both my rides are pretty stock body wise. Any help, hints or suggestion would be appreciated.
Hard to say if those Caddy "bullets" will bolt to your stock bumper...guess it depends on the shape of the Olds bumper. Why not use the entire Caddy bumper, it'd prolly be easier to adapt the Caddy bumper brackets to your frame than to adapt the Caddy bullet mountings to your bumper. I'd think the Olds bumper will not work for the Caddy bullets, but like anything else, you'll not know til you get them side by side. R-
Im putting '50 Caddy bumperettes on my '53 desoto. Anything can be done if you put your mind to it. How im going to do mine is just trim the backside of the new piece to lay flush on the old bumper. Then bolt em on. Hell, if you plan on re-chroming the bumper ide say weld it one piece.
