As a newbie i was unsure how to approach this but as the images will be of UK vintage it will make it easier for those interested to place them in one thread to locate them so here goes Two shots of a early Austin seven covertable,it could carry four passengers and believe me theres not much elbow room. Back in the 1950s we had a later saloon model in the family with about as much room but they were affordable and provided transpoert to a lot of people. This model has the Austin of England motif along the bonnet cheers Les
A couple more from across the pond A 1930s Austin Ruby, i remember we had one around 1950 a tight squeeze fo dad mum and three kids the second is again 1930s a Morris 8
Les, careful hear-abouts! You're apt to receive a boot-in-the-bonnet! There lurk herein some of considerable opinions. My brother's first car was a '48 Morris ragtop. Nice pics.
One more for tonight, a Bedford CA van circa 1959/60 converted by Dormobile of Folkestone in Kent, now long gone enjoy cheers Les
Ah well still not gone to bed yet so thought i would put this up, its my current trusty steed which i own with a good mate a 1947 Austin K2 2 ton truck
here is another photo of the Austin along side our previous truck the AEC Matador plus a glimpse of my mates Nuffield tractor to which has now been added a Fordson power major, now guys you want a animal to drive the mats your kiddie not only that you could end up deaf and with a sore throat after 20 miles on the road
forgot to say the green mat photo is as we purchased her, this photo is another Austin7 this time the delivery van cheers Les
One of my all time favorites and make a bitchin hot rod is the Morris Z van. A buddy of mine built one with a Daimler hemi.
never seen a morris Z as a hot rod weasel but that would be interesting, now you guys in the States will be familiar with these trucks the GMC CCKW6x6 many were purchased in the UK and Europe after WW2 these were employed in the South East of England for contract lime speading
We had a Bedford CA van when I was a wee lad, it had drop down wooden benches along the sides where we unfortunate kids sat, mum and dad got to sit on real seats up front. Our sadistic deputy headmaster at Burnley Grammar School drove an Austin Seven everyday, he was pure evil.
A couple of 1970s photos this time the first a typical tyre stockists of the time with a triumph 1500 in front and a Datsun and renault on the ramps. I have noted a number of accident photos in various threads on the site so heres one UK style on a poor old Austin Allegro cheers Les
That little Tourer looks likethe Bishop's car featured in the film "The Quiet Man" with John Wayne, Victor McClaghen, and Maureen O'Hara. Little indeed!
That looks like a ford pilot if I am not mistaken, I found one in a field along with several Austin sheerlines and a Daimler majestic major that I bought for the 4.5 litre v8 hemi engine
Earlier in this thread i posted a photo of the Dormobile bedford CA conversion, here is the SWB 1959 van in original form. My first vehicle in 1962 was a 1959 CA wich i purchased to carry our band equipment to gigs cheers Les
