There is an old Mack, about 2 1/2 ton, in pleasant valley Nv.(just south of Reno on US395. The weeds are starting to overgrow it but I always thought that could be a nice tow rig, or motorhome (airstream body maybe?).
A very rare Nash wrecker in this group. We're only supplied to Nash dealers, the big trucks were a overseas product not available in the U.S. Michael
That 57 is way cool! Big window tow truck, not much cooler than that! I came across a tow unit like the one in post #70. I can't find anything at all about these "marquette manual cranes". Now I'm not sure which to use on my TT, the Weaver or the Marquette! Hmmmmm..... I DO have two of those old trucks....
I some how missed this thread whilst searching the forum but what a great one this is and right up my street. This photo might interest you guys in the states its a Diamond T 980 originally built for the war office in WW2 and when surplus to requirements like many others were snapped up and converted to wreckers for civilian recovery cheers Les
Man what a cool thread, love that Mack, the springs and chain drive is awesome. My Dad had a 48 Ford with a real simple boom tow hook on it, wish I had pix. Thanx for all the posts, sweet! ~sololobo~
Anyone have anymore information about these Ashton beds? I just came across one that I'm thinking about buying, but it would be cool to find out some more info. A web search doesn't turn up much.
396 that wrecker is sweat!!!! I love the colors and how cool the whole thing came out. I am jealous being from Mass and missing it. Great job on a cool truck.
Some real vintage looking classic wreckers full of history on this thead. Many great photo's of some great looking wreckers. Jimbo
