Okay fallas, the time is NOW!!! I was so inspired by your previous work of shopping my car without scallops and all one color, I committed. I have been sanding the car all week and am going to spray it this weekend. If you wouldnt mind, could I see the car in a few colors? Maroon, royal blue, light blue, grey, and dark blue. I want a subtle color and also value your opinions. After you have helped me out, im going to make a poll on the main board. Thanks in advance!!!

satin James, thanks for the reminder. This will just be a temporary job for the next year or so, I figured satin would help hide my little flaws until she goes under the knife.

I'm wanting to do some changes to mine in the future and have considered the following.

    1. Dark Blue Metallic like the car below...

    2. Lakster Pipes with baffles/Finned aluminum Valve covers

    3. Halibrand Kidney Bean Wheels with ~10" wide dirt oval treads on the back.

Anybody want to give that a try? :D

I'm trying to learn PS, so I thought I'd try a minimalist approach on the cow van:

  7. MAN...that is too cool Flatfoot. I can wield a brush but cannot do this photo shop stuff...you guys are the new artists. Thanks-a-Million.

  8. Don't really have a logo just something similar to the lettering on the 37 delivery in my avatar. With the exception of some pretty crazy striping and flames (see the my 92 buick delivery below) I've always kept the signs on my vehicles simple and legible like they did in the old days.

If I repaint the car it might be similar to the blue on the 37, so if you have time try that. I'm not picky, I just like ideas. Thanks again.

I would much rather be able to stripe. I have tried and tried but just cant get it. I always over do it.

  11. Yep, sometimes too much can ruin the whole game but not to worry, we are all artists no matter the medium. The 54 looks beeeyooteeful. So good I might change it to my avatar. Tank ya, Tank ya! An a one, an a two...

Im not sure if im going to keep Master Blaster lettering or not, its an early 70's style car so maybe some 70' style paint scheme ides as well. this thread is awesome, thanks

Here is what someone did for me on my car. Is it possible to lower the front end? Possibly do it with white and a blue stripe, or gloss black with a semi flat black stripe? Maybe some old school mags? I have some Halibrand Sprints but I would have to trade them for thinner ones to fit this car. I was thinking maybe ET III's? But anything would be appreciated!

Suggestions would be appreciated. I have a brand new blue interior, That is why I am trying these combination's.

    No problem. :)

The caps are from a photo of a Hudson, though I´ve no idea if they´re Hudson caps. You might consider replacing the side chrome too. They always look better with it IMHO.

Here you go. I chopped the grille shell to get it level with the cowl and chopped the top slightly too, it looks a touch better IMHO.

I'll try to work up a side shot of a 55 set up like your car. I'm not good at paint yet but there are other guys on here who are real good at it. Maybe between us we can come up with something.

Here's one- tough to work off of other people's work sometimes. I couldn't find a good pic of the wheels you wanted to work with.

Hey Chop Liver, here is a basic workup of your car. I suck at colors so this is my best shot, maybe James D or Flatfoot or Skoh73 or someone can put the '70s paint job on. Any help would be appreciated guys.

Thanks Oahueli and Russian, any possability of fat black or gloss black no lettering? I thought about yellow, orange and red sounds ugly but they used these collors alot back then in layers over one another. Thanks again guys. The car has ansen slots on the rear and 3.5 slots on front now.
