48 chev front shock?

    anybody ever rebuilt them? where does one find a rebuild kit?book on rebuild? i see that chevs of the 40's has some rebuilt but they are $500 and that just is too far out of my range. any help is appreciated, thank you

    or if anyone has some working ones for sale :)

    They're not easy to try to rebuild at home. Do you need both sides, or just one? The last I knew, I still had one good used front shock lying around, but I'd have to look at it to see whether it was LH or RH.

    Steele Rubber Reproductions had all the rubber parts, seals ect. for them.

    i need both, mine are pretty much shot. finally got the plates and plugs out and off and they both looked like they were filled with rust colored powder and rusty lol.

    hey guy i just pulled them from my 47 sedan for a mustang ii swap, yell at me if r interested n them, if u want to pay the shipping u can have them, bet u never had that offer before.........
