Hey Guys, I have a heavily chopped model A pickup. It has a 6" chop. The studs in the A-pillars to hold the window open have been relocated to a different position. I bought a new steel model A windshield and just finished chopping it. Now I have to weld the windshield brackets to the inside of the windshield frame. My question is on a stock setup where do the the two correspond in relationship to each other. Im trying to put the bracket on the frame so it sits in the factory spot in relationship to the stud in the A-pillar. Can anyone send me some pics or measurements. Hope I explained this clear enough.
When i did mine. i just hung the windshield, where it goes and then held the brackets in place, while testing to see the best placement for the piller stud, so it would swing out good....the jusy poped rivet the brackets the the frame, then drilled and taped the piller, for the stud and screwed it in and locked with a nut, put it all togeather and works great....
On my Tudor I took 4.25 out of the front and when the issue came up about the pivots I decided to do away with them and plan to make up a pivot at the center bottom. This allowed the pillars which are real short (shorter on yours) to be clean and not be overwhelmed by the arms and whatnot. I figure the windsheild is so small it doesn't really need two supports anyway. Can't tell you what I'm gonna use for my one pivot but I'll deal with that soon after the roof is welded on. Good luck, Jeff
