We're off, the whole fam. Going to pick up our 1st real build. A 53 Chevy 150 2 door. Its a straight shot thru IL up I-74. Its actually just across the border in Davenport, IA.
Wish us luck. And give a Gray Tahoe with a White enclosed a thumbs up if ya see us on 74..
More pics to follow when we get it home

I'm near Morton, Il. I'll wave. Reminds me of when we went to Springfield Missouri about six hours away to get my 53 Coupe about 8 years ago. Fun road trip.:p

I found mine 17 miles away. :) great story. I got it off eBay, went to get it, loaded up and had it running in the afternoon. Then proceeded to take it apart and re***emble for 6 years.

Mine was 10 hrs away in Paduka KY but well worth the rd trip to get it. Have fun remember the rd trip to get a car can be part of the story of the car forever !

It's neat that your whole family is going along to get it. They'll be involved from the start. Makes it a little more meaningful to everybody. A father/son project is cool, but a family project...that's awesome. Congratulations on the new old car, and best wishes to you all.

BONEZ, no way. The Acadian will always stay in this garage. Its part of the family:D .

MISTER TWISTER, I am mainly looking for the rocker trim on both sides and what I call the center spear. The piece that runs from the front fender all the way back to the quarter.

An update, not much has happened. Car show season in full swing been busy keeping up with the other cars. We have gotten it off the trailer and into the garage. I have purchased a S10 to steal the front clip off of. I plan on getting going in the next couple weeks. Pics to come

I really need two wore out 285/70/15s for mock up in the rear. i'm willing to pay for them even trashed ones. Any help there would be appreciated, cuz I'm having no luck.

    Thanks guys

Good to know, that car is perfect if you ask me.
I'd keep it over any other older or newer cars.

Big Tony, plans are super low w/no air ride, 5 spd, unsure on the motor (I'm going to look at an Overhead Cam Inline 6 from the late 60's in a few) with the 285s fillin the rear. Satin Marroon exterior. For now, all plans are subject to change. I've got a lot of work ahead of me...

NOT to give you a hard time, but, your 210 is in fact a 150 model. Much more desirable in my mind. Rubber windshield and back light seals, the rubber rear fender stone guards, and no side trim, that's how I like them. You've got to do something about that engine however. Nice car. Thanks Butch,
And yes I knew it was a 150. I just want to use a couple of the 210 trim pieces. Mainly the rocker trim and chrome rock guards. But thanks again

And would anyone happen to know where I might find a ricer transmission to fit the transverse mounted 6 cyl ;-):D

Well, I haven't had time to do a whole lot to the car. However, I was able to tear down the S10 that I'm gonna use some parts from. Mainly, I'm gonna use the front clip and maybe the 5 spd. We had it tore down in about 3 hours. I checked the rails out up front and they're good and solid despite the rest of the trucks appearance:D

Can you believe that my buddy was driving this to and from work up til a few months ago?? it only had 2 body mount bolts left, the others broke out from rust. The odo read 385,**x on a 2.5L and hadnt ever been out of the truck....

Cool project. I am running a S10 clip as well. Z it a bit to keep it low with stock stub axles. I`ll be watching this.
