Here are a few pics on the progress of my '64.

Let me run down the list of kustomizations!

It's getting a new EZ Wire kit and Hot Rod Air.

It has an airbag setup with a two link rear end and the body lays all the way on the ground.

The whole body is shaved including emblems and the gas door.

The biggest deal on the inside is the dash. It's a custom dash that's going to look more like it was done in the 60's rather than the 21st century (hopefully). It will have a full set of Moon gauges and a push ****on AM radio from a 67 Plymouth. The radio won't play tunes, but will actually control the air ride! Click the volume knob to the left and the switches go up. Click the volume knob to the right and they go down! That is by far my favorite part.

The dash will have an aluminum grill cut on the water jet that runs the length of it and was inspired by the stock dash. I'll use the original air vents behind the grill because they're too cool not to use.

The bottom half of the dash that curves toward the firewall is the stock piece. The A/C controls and the CD Player will be hidden in the ashtray and glove box.

The rest of the interior will follow a mild custom theme. It won't be stock, but it will be pretty close and not a wild swivel seat disco ball kinda thing! Something simple, and most likely two-tone black and white.

For now, it'll be sprayed in Blitz Black until I can figure out what I want to do with the paint scheme.

This car will be my daily driver which is why it's getting A/C and other creature comforts. I also have twins on the way so the car will have upper and lower car seat anchors in the back. The kids will be strapped in just as safe as they would be in my wife's late-model car. Down the road when the money tree is abundant, I'll put in shatter-proof gl***.

A few other touches will be 62-63 Buick wheel covers, and some subtle striping on the body.

It's going to be a daily driver, but it's still going to be a kustom, so it needs a proper name! So this may be a risky thing to ask for but give me your ideas for a name! I'm sure all the smart*** responses will be funny, but I figured someone may be able to come up with something cool too, because I just can't think of anything. There's a spot on the dash over the glove box that will have a Lincoln emblem for now, but I'd eventually like to come up with a name for the car and cut it into a badge to put there. When I first got the car I planned on going with black paint and I've been a Johnny Cash fan since my grandmother gave me one of his albums as a kid, so I thought some sort of tribute to the Man In Black would be fitting.

Let me know what you think!

    Bodywork is almost done...

These are the upper car seat restraints almost finished...

If you are trying really hard to come up with a name for my car, here's a picture that sums up my at***ude and will help you get an idea for my style...

By the way, if you suggest Connie or Hot Rod Lincoln you should know better and should be compelled to kick yourself in the balls!:D

    Thats looking awesome!!!

A car like that needs no name.

It ****s but you can only go so low with them....unless you want to cut the floorboards out.

Here's a pic of my wifes 64' convertible. We are going to run the stock steelies, not the mix matched tires or rims you see in the pic. I pulled the 430 and shoe horned a 460 Ford engine and C6 trans in its place.

J that is a really good name! Like at the start of 3000 miles to Graceland, when Kurt Russell pulls up in a LC and kills the scorpions. Such a nice car!!

I'm digging it man, that's going to be a sweet right. 60's Lincoln's will always RULE.

If not a name, a job? "Offical Road Dot Remover Service?" Get that baby nice and low and *pop *pop* knock some of those reflecters off the center of the road. :)

what's up with the suspension? What are you running?

I came an hour away from buying a 63. Dude sold it out from under me. And my buddy just picked up a 64 convertible. I love 63-65 contis man. Love them.

gonna look good...what color are you going?

Evil...anymore pictures of your lady's convertible? My buddy is working on his. Just got the top down for the first time a couple nights ago. I can't see the one you posted...I'm thinking it's because my work blocks myspace.

I think that car would look a leeetle better with some skinnier whites on it. You didn't ask but hey, free advice is worth what you pay for it. Anyway, name it whatever you want, just don't go painting the name on the driver's side rear quarter when you figure it out.

    Looks good!

The front and back are both bagged. The front has individual valves on each wheel. To lay the back all the way down it has a two-link set up and only one valve because the two-link doesn't allow for much side to side articulation. When I bought the car it was another guy's project. He stripped the car and started the suspension work, but that was as far as he got before he got distracted by something else. His plan was to go WAAAAY pimp with 22" wires so the rear end was being hacked up to allow that setup to lay down.

Now it will sit on good old stock steelies like God intended!

Don't worry, I would never do something that dumb. I'll obviously use the entire side of the car from bumper to bumper to do a big mural with the name in it.:D
    You know...something cl***y.;)

Wow, looks great. It is nice to see you are committed to making it safe for the kids. Right on.

I was thinking about the gl***. I used to have a car that had tinted windows, and when the gl*** broke, the tint held all the little peices together. Perhaps you could find some clear plastic window film to put on the back windows until you can afford the laminated stuff?

    Just a thought.

But then there'd be two of 'em in Phoenix and you'd probably have to kill me!

I like the name "Jackie LO" for the car.
It's tough to see a slabside Lincoln without thinking of the Zapruter film.

Cool ride, by the way. The wiring alone on that car is an ambitious project.

I guess you could but wouldn't Firebelle Louise be more correct? Or how about Queenie Shirelle?
