dunno...and I'm not real fond of the term groovy either...too many memories of friends and acquaintances sitting around in a chemical stupor.... at least it's different....hotrodding likes different...to an extent. dj
To each their own. If you like it don`t matter .but if you care what others think you`ll be disappointed. It`s kinda( r-t r-d ) Pete.
Personally I think it could be made to look good if it was smoothed off and "un-ratted". I kinda like the shape, and it's a refreshing change from '32 Ford grills, (which I also like.) A few years ago I started a thread on here about tractor grill shells and got my *** flamed.(try search). Lots of folks here don't like them..."not traditional". Do what you like.
It might not look bad if you create a really nice looking insert to go in the shell and get away from the rusty barbecue mesh that is in it. I thought about doing that 20 years ago but now it is so overdone and usually crudely done that it doesn't appeal any more. Make it look like a race car nose rather than a misplaced tractor nose and you will have something.
I think it might work with a hood. I do understand using what you have but sometimes it just doesn't work.
Not a fan of tractor grills... However, I'm wondering about the layout of your set-up. You've got an A frame with a SBC and a T coupe body... those things are pretty commonly put together; I'm not getting why you chose to set it up so that your radiator has to be mounted so far forward?
Makes me think of cosmic conversations. Oh Grooooovey maaaan. I guess the tractor grill is OK. Some folks say they belong on tractors but it's really a matter of presentation I suppose. Or maybe its really a matter of perspective.
not a huge fan of tractor grills but I have to admit that one does look pretty good. I like the shape of it. keep it on....
