Faith, I'm disappointed I can't attend the "World Premiere", so I'll have to wait for the "Oscar's"!:D I'm very proud of your accomplishment. Your dedication to finishing this project, has been inspiring. Did you send an invitation to Desoto?;)

Now THAT is really inspiring :)... Thank you for putting some good into the world.. It really needs it.

Now on the note of Acamedy awards, I had the wonderful opportunity to show the entire film to Jim Nelson, who mixed American Graffiti back in the day, and is an Academy Member, with over 140 films & TV episodes under his belt. So, (true story) he watches the film and at the end turns to me and looks real serious (no smile on his face) and says to me:

"So. You want me to be really honest with you?"

And I'm going like (in my head) "Oh boy, here it comes he's going to tell me "don't quit your day job kiddo" or something of that nature.'

So I go: "yes, please, that is why I am here"

    So he goes (I quote - verbatum): "A - MA - ZING"

    Me:

He adds: "If you do not get nominated for an Academy Award for this accomplishment - I am not saying you would win it, but get nominated - there is no justice"

Needless to say I went home that day with a 3 mile wide smile on my face LOL. :D

So I think we will submit the film for a nomination, of course chances of actually getting nominated would be like the chance of finding an original 1932 Ford roadster listed for $1 in a local paper LOL... But what the heck, why not give it a crack? ;).

Great accomplishment, Faith. I followed this in the early days but lost track of it somewhere. Just ordered my DVD as a Christmas present for myself! Good luck with the Academy; you deserve it.

    Gongrats!

Hearing Jim Nelson's words must have been really rewarding.

You have earned every right to be proud of yourself.

Can hardly wait to see the film. Thanks!

Really wish I could go to that premiere shindig but I'm stuck here in Ohio. I've been waiting patiently for over a year for my DVD and am getting really excited to finally see it.

Congrats on all the hard work and good luck on the acadamy nomination...

After all of the hub-bub, drama, and everything else I'd like to see the finished project. Will it be shown in theaters nationwide? I don't mean like big chain movie theaters but could small private theaters rent a copy?

I was one of the first people to hear that the SCTA November meet was cancelled, Ron Main, president of the Sidewinders called me and said: "Faith Granger: You won the lotery" LOL. Cause now all my dry lake racing buddies can come to the premiere :D this includes of course Gene Winfield who will be walking the red carpet with us at 4PM - Ooo la la... You coming? the Sidewinders will be volunteering to help us park the cars and keep an eye on barricades and crowd during the event :) - Too bad Ron could not bring his Speed Demon car... Sure woudl have been nice to see it parked in front of the theater :D - But I think gene's lake roadster will be there (it's in the film)...

Yes, there will be opportunities to catch the film on the big screen at select theaters, mostly in conjunction with misc big car events or film festivals. Best thing to do chevy Girl is to put your email on my email list. I don't email but once a month, or if a screening is happening in your area. This way you will be notified :) - Also you can keep an eye on facebook:

Hey you guys are the first SONG in the film :) - cause the scene takes place in texas, so your song "Budweiser" really seems to fit well... :)... Make sure to email me your shipping address cause at some point soon I will be sending comp DVDs to you guys :)... Thank you again for supporting DEUCE OF SPADES.

Faith: Congrats on the film. We are looking forward to seeing it here in Hardy, Arkansas. A lot of my old friends in Simi Valley, CA, are planning on attending your Premiere. Wish I could be there for it. Again, congrats on finishing it. JJ

    Faith,
Is there an "official" trailer yet? I've seen most of your daillies you've posted, but just wondered if there was something different for a trailer?
I just think it's great to be able to say "I know the girl who made that movie!!!!",to my friends.
Another question Faith. Did you use any of the pic's you took with my truck and your Roadster at El Mirage? It was that day when the sun was going down and I came riding up and you asked me to get out and you took some shots. It's the grey '38 Ford Pick-up with the Old Crow logo on the doors...Just curious.
Looking forward to the Premeir!!!!! I'll have camera in hand,as usual, haha!

  26. Congratulations Faith on completing the task you had set yourself a few years ago.

    I can't wait to see it !

Beaucoup de respect et admiration pour ce que vous avez atteint foi.

    Fantastique !!

Email me after the premiere and I'll send you a couple, I took them for fun and promo, not for the film. Not sure if you meant by "did you use them" whether they are in the film, so the answer is no, but they do look way cool :)

You should bring the merc to the event!!

    NEWSFLASH:

Got a call from Bill HInes clan yesterday and they are attending the event. Bill will be walking down the red carpet with us :D, along with Gene Winfield. there is an awesome shot of Bill in teh film, lighting his cigar with his torch  - it always gets a gasp out of hte audience LOL. Both gene and Bill have each an entire scene and are part of the plot, each providing vital information to the girl so she can put the pieces of the puzzle together...
