This is a pretty good illustration of a bad transporter: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=4185&start=1
I totally got screwed from a auto shipper.I was looking around for a f100 for a while.Found a very solid one in Ca.( im in Pa)Had it shipped out to here, the shippers were 2 weeks late to even pick it up, and then they delivered it like the pic shows.I fought them for 2 months and it turned out they subleted the work to a uninsured carrier. Finally was able get them to pay me and keep the truck. The owner of the company said a bridge was too low and hit it.
Jeeez, thats horrible. I don't mean to laugh but I'm doing a visual of the driver showing up at your house, walking up to your front door whistling then walking to the trailer with you , still whistling, then asking you where you want him to unload it like maybe you'll never notice the damage. That ****s Billy
Had that happen at the dealership once. A transporter full of brand new Corvettes came in with the one on the front of the nose cracked up like a egg. Guess which one was ours? Guess the Dispatcher gave the driver wrong directions and he went under a low underp***. We ended up giving the car to a vocational school for a project car. What a mess.
The best part was, i was'nt even there to take delivery of the truck! I was in San Diego at the time, because they messed up the transit times. I didnt even know untill my friend went to check on it and then called me.it was a ****py experience!
damn thats some ****ed up ****. you would have pry my hands off the drivers neck. showing up with my car wrecked like that or that Desoto for that matter.
Wow! The other day I am riding with my brother down 35th Ave in Phx and for some reason somthing caught my eye in his mirror. I looked over my shoulder and a tilt bed tow truck comes up next to us and I see the car roll forward and hit the head gaurd. The light just turned green and I told my brother to wait this car is going to roll off this tranporter. He says no f'in way and a second later sure enough the tow truck driver kicks it down and off the back comes this late model import with parts flying everywhere.
I'm sure some of you saw the incident a few weeks ago where a transporter full of restored Porsche Speedsters got hit by a train... As I recall, one of them belonged to the proprietor of a resto shop and the others were all customer cars. Oww!
R.I.P. I think is the best to say, they better pay. wagons are hard enough to find and then that happens. if it wasn't for bad luck, i wouldn't have no luck at all. get them for all its worth and more man. you could make the rear half a kool trailer to tow behind the next one you find. good luck prays are with you...
for the vette mishap, it's a good reason to ride them instead of trailer-queening them. certainly ****s though
It hurts even worse to see a rare one that you have long wanted just wiped out. 57 Desoto wagons are in limited quan***y.
