thinking of installing some on my 52, any opinions on them... I haven't seen a lot of them around as of late... might be a reason for that..
I vote "hell no" That car is too clean to hang frufru on. Maybe just chrome dumps like this http://www.thenightprowlers.com/NewImages/dumps.jpg right behind the front wheels like the hot cars had back when.
That car will NOT look good with Lakes at all . So my vote is NO ! Honestly I like the way it looks now . Retro Jim
Yea, lake pipes for sure. The ones with the three tips would look killer on that car. I vote pipes with three tips. But, then it might need a chop too. Also, as previosly mentioned, dumps that come out just behind the front tires might look good too.
ok if you are going to put lake pipes on that car you first need to lower it some more and new rims/tires are a must, chop isn't a must but would help. That car as of now has more of a g***er look to it
Since when did lake pipes become so "uncool"? Talk about traditional, they are! As well as dummy spots. True, this guys car isn't exactly set up for lakes. But lowered, skirts, wearin' caps and lake pipes would make it killer. Just a different look. Deep thought, by kensey.
Full moons and lakes are cool, always have been, too many people watching FAST& FURIOUS,mufflers mags are for ***s.
If you are going to put lake pipes you need to get it lower and put some cool hubcaps on. That is the way it was done in the 50's
Don't think that lakes pipes would go with the chrome strip...so agree with the other guys that if you do put them on, ditch the strip and lower it...
thanks for the response, guess it will stay as is, now I see what you guys are saying that like the plugs, this merc is probably a good example....
****, do what you want. Youre really gonna take your car in the direction of other peoples opinions? Who cares what others think? If you like lakers, run em and have fun. As you can see by the feedback, some like it, some dont. So, youre still in the same spot man... make up youre own mind.
I vote YES. Since this pic I put three inch blocks in the rear. They are fairly inexpensive and if you don't like them much you can resell them and not lose much or save them for another car. Joe
Just like changing up wheels and tires to alter the appearance and characteristics of the car without actually modifying anything. Make some hangers for the pipes that are easy to remove. Also, pipes require skirts, IMO.
You have the whole package that we were telling him he would need to carry the lakers off earlier though. The right stance, the right wheels and tires, hubcaps, and the skirts to go with it. The car looks and flows and doesn't look like you just had an extra 200 bucks to spend and blew it on lakes pipes. Too many guys want to subscribe to the H.O.G. method of "customizing" and just hang chrome doo daas on an otherwise stock car and call it a custom.
