a DHC or Cobra torch system...been wanting one for a while and decided why not now.....

Since I was buying I went and also bought me a set of oxy acetylene torches to start learning some gas welding skills.

As far as tanks...whats the best way to go? Rent/lease or buy out right. I was thinking of swinging by AIRGAS tomorrow and get me a set of tanks.

    Re: Rent or Buy??
Just keep one thing in mind. If you change your mind, Gas suppliers won't necessarily buy back your cylinders. not a big deal because you can probably sell them privately, but I was caught by this little Oopsy when I switched shielding gas on my electric rig.
    Good luck!!

    Buy

    I rented.
It was $350 for the first 10 years then when I renewed it was $350 for 5 years.
They kept going up on me until I agreed to buy.
I was concerned that they might want to hydrostatically test my bottles and charge me but they blindly exchange my empties for full and sometimes they give me different size bottles.
It was American Oxygen then Airco, now Airgas.Same company, same building
I've been doing it so long they dont even have a start date for me in their computer
