just wondering if anyone knew for certain if '67-'69 (sbc) coil springs will fit a '75-'79 nova x body(sbc) application? i believe they do if i'm not mistaken.tried to cross reference them on the cpp site but they have no listing's beyond the '74 nova year. anybody know off hand?

the early camaros and novas ie: rear steer cars use a smaller dia. front spring 4 or 4.5 inch. The later front steer camaro and nova use the more common 5 inch spring.

so you're saying no,...it won't fit? and the point w/the diameter's will it not fit the spring pocket? i'm also waiting for an email sent to cpp to ascertain the lbs. ability of the springs to see if they will work.

1975 nova uses same springs as 1977-1981 camaro

what do you want to do? lower the car, handle better, launch at the strip. Is this a front clip swap?

actually its already done as far as the clip installation its from a '76 nova. i want to lower it. i have a set of 67-69 camaro coil springs that are a 1.500" drop, brand new from cpp (cl***ic performance products).these must be last years model as their current product offerings online do not show the model # of these springs.the stamped # on these springs are FCS638-D which are for the 1st gen camaro. i was sure that these would fit according to an article explaining the feasibility of crossing different model years parts. matter o fact i have it in my lunch bag i need to scan it and put in in my files so i can post it in here.

The early springs will not fit correctly in the spring pockets of the later cars. Also I believe the early springs were about two inches longer than later springs from the factory. The better way to lower your car is dropped spindles and trim the stock coils.

Why not contact coilspring specialities and buy a set of springs custom made for your car and etc. I read about the company on another forum where a guy used them to custom make drop springs for a lowrider, he said the set of 4 springs shipped was like 380 bucks.
