Chopping glass

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by sgtlethargic, Nov 15, 2010.

  1. I know nothing about it. How is it done on a (what's that term I'm looking for?) curved windshield? Basically, I want to narrow a Falcon windshield. Can you cut a center section out and glue(?) it back together, or would you have to turn it into a split windshield and install trim? Make sense?

    Thanks,
    Kurt

Curved windshields are laminated. I'm guessing by your description you want to keep the outer curves? If so then yes, cut in 1/2 and bond the center. Some of the later model streetrod stuff, the split gl*** cars get 2 pcs and a bonding stip of some kind to eliminate the mldgs.

yes i think your name for toughend is temperd you cant cut it with a normal gl***cutter it just shatters but the waterjet cuts useing 60000 psi water and garnet sand just like a plasma
