tenant at my renthouse said there was something in the attic making noise. and they wanted them gone...as quickly as possible...

backed the truck up so I could get in the attic...took old 12ga ****tergun up with me, sat and waited on rats to appear, four of them eventually ate a healthy dose of #8 shot.

    removed rats.

    calmed un-nerved tenant

    went home.

I cut the nasty old rocker panels of my 49 shoebox and fitted the new ones. Will go by the sheet metal shop tomorrow and have them bend a set of inner rockers. I took one of my yuppie friends for a ride in my 66 F250 friday night. Big change from his Lexus. He's still shaking his head. My 50 shoebox has developed the odd habit of blowing the horn every time I turn the wheel hard in either direction. Made for an interesting ride last night.

Took my Es*** apart for some repairs on the frame and some paint. From running car to bare frame in a weekend. I wish they would go back together that fast. also gonna paint the body, I'm sick of flat black for now. I'll have it back on the road with a new int, body and frame painted by April 15th also will have a Carson style top on it

Cut weeds, sandblasted parts for my 50, cut weeds, helped Sumdumkid put new upper a-arms on his 53 F-100, cut more weeds, ate, sandblasted more parts, cut weeds, got tired of sandblasting, found some muriatic acid, makes short work of rust, (wonder if it works on weeds), half-***ed alined the said F-100, ate again, then hit the HAMB.

I worked on my daughter's jr dragster: almost finished sanding it, finished getting the motor together, and started running the wiring. I also made a dropped tow hitch for a buddy's golf cart. :)

flatheadpete came over and we rocked out on the 53...replaced the leaky trans dipstick, squared up the rearend and added new u-bolts. realized that the airbags were merely sitting in the spring cups and i nearly **** myself thinking about the airride work i had in store for myself...
after a quick call to kustombuilder, and some stroke of engineering genious by pete, we had the air ride properly re-installed and better than ever in less than an hour...
pete has this strange way of making parts appear from junk at exactly the time that you need it...i was ready to start pulling my hair out, and he comes up with the perfect, and very simple solution.
he is a ruler in my book

ordering the wiring harness tomorrow, but this is how the old chevy sits tonight...about an inch lower all the way around.

Saturday morning, Tokyo and I went to the junkyard in search of miscellaneous items and returned empty handed. But I managed to get the rest of the front suspension and brakes set-up on the 46 that afternoon. Sunday I started to mount the brackets for the new rear set-up but only got the p***enger side mocked up. All in all I got a helluva lot more done this weekend than usual!

Replaced the burned airline to the right front bag. While there, started cleaning 47 years worth of **** off the spindle, painted the drum, and replaced the bearings. I then replaced the bottom rubber sweep on my shower door, tightened it down to much, and the gl*** exploded 15 minutes later.

Played 'guess that mood swing' with the other half, then the other game of 'what'd I do now?'. After that, stayed in the garage polishing chrome wheels. :(

  22. Cut out the hacked up dash area around the radio. Fit in a patch panel from a donor truck. Tig welded most of it in till I got tired and had to quit before I really screwed it up.

Sat. made the steering shaft drop for the bucket and sorted out a couple kittle things. Sun., went over to give Kritz a hand on the ol Chebby. Rebuilt the airride and straightened out the rear end (way off center!) so she sits and drives right. Painted a '51 Merc die-cast silver with Blue flake roof...

Did some measurements of a couple front axles and decided which one to use. Welded in a temp bar across the frame horns to hold things together while I am playing with the cross members. Un bolted the front X member and moved it back under the engine to make room for the grille shell.

Finished welding up the new overhead hoist frame. Built this from scratch. Took a little over a month. 11 feet wide and 10 feet tall. I plan on putting it to use this week.

Checked out the W.P. Chrysler Museum. Nice place, had been meaning to go for a while.

My wife's favorites were the woody Town & Country and a Nash Metropolitan. I liked some of the early stuff, and the Ramchargers era drag cars and a few of the **** Pack cars.

They have some good movies to watch about history and such. One of them said effectively that W.P. Chrsyler was the most important figure in 20th century automotive history or something like that. I was a bit disgruntled. He was no Henry Ford. And everyone knows Ed Roth is the most important figure in automotive history.

This weekend was a total bust. Showed up at Plowboy's too late to do much on the '59. Bought a big floor jack. Took another crack at my friend's late model and got shut down again. Tried to work on my car and got nowhere due to lack of tools (welder, engine hoist) or parts (mostly nuts and bolts). Called it a weekend.

Sold my 39 coupe and worked on the 56 a small amount. Think I got the balance fully seated now.
