i have a 54 chevy need a new 12 volt motor too run it ...any know what will fit ..my old one is toast ... need something that will .. someone has had to have done this already .. thanks to all
What about putting a voltage drop in line on the heater, I put one on my chevy long time ago when I first converted to 12 volt, worked fine
just put one in last night from ecklers chevrolet online, cost me 79.99 though.....oh it is 12 volt and is a direct replacment
The cars and trucks used the same motor. I just did this on my '53 sedan. Cheapest price was though Cl***ic Parts http://www.cl***icparts.com/1947-63-1964-66-w_Air-Heater-Motor-12-Volt/productinfo/68-009/
When we were building my son's 54 Chevy sedan we just installed the 12volt heater motor from the doner car we picked up. It was not hard to do as the size of the motor outter shell was about the same size. It was out of a '81 Cutl*** but any GM motor should be about the same. We also installed the resister for the speed control in the heater box also (it needs the air flow to keep it cool) The bad thing is that this motor is made for a squarl cage blower not the fan blade type that came in the 54's heater so it makes alot of air noise or I guess you could call it fan blade noise. You may be better just swapping in a complete heater system if you could fine something small enough.
I just checked out your first post again, I see you are also working on an International, I also have a International. Mine's a '46----small world
GM used more or less the same size and mount for heater motors for like a billion years - I think the mount is different on these but I'd lay money you could come up with almost any 1990 or older GM motor and make it work without a lot of effort.
hey Im looking for a part number if anyone can help.. better late than never . thanks . some one listed a link . but i want to see the length of shaft of the original . and make sure i get the right blower motor . thanks jake .
