I came across this 1934 Ford truck and it's almost exactly what I want. I'm just wondering if the asking price of $16,500 is in the right ball park or is it too much? I will be basically going through everything and adding a few go fast goodies to the engine so I will have more money in it that way as well....

    I feel like that's about a 12,000 $ truck.Looks real good and I'd love to have it too,but 16,000 is a lot of dough.

A truck that was better than that one recently sold here for $8500....had a rebuilt sweet running '36 flathead motor.....

$16,500 sounds like it's out of line to me......that's a $10-12K truck at most.......

Sorry, but I'd p***. $16,500 is alot of coin, to me, anyways. I think for that kinda green I'd shop around. Cash is king. Respects, Red.

Looks to be on a car lot, how long has it been sitting there? Offer what YOU want to pay with cash in hand.(I wouldn't lowball him and then go look for the cash, I hate when people do that to me) Looks like a nice truck. Good luck

Got to agree, that is a very nice truck, but 16,500 is a lot of green. I say keep looking. This one will probably be around for a while.

That almost looks like it's at that "Cars Of Route 66" place or what's-it-called. A bit much, but if you're not into building one that might be the way to go.

Might I also suggest an intro?

Looks like to me like it is at that place in southern IL called "Country Cl***ics" or something like that....right off of Interstate 55 near Lebanon? WATCH those fellers....check her out (they have a lift I think) and offer them $10K cash and see what happens.....just my old *** checking in! Good luck! Looks like a nice truck FROM the internet!!!!!

In the '60's, I wanted a nice '36 3 Window, p***ed on a nice one at $1500 because it was too much, early in the 70's, I found another nice one, p***ed at $2750 because it was too much, later that decade, found a complete roller shell for $500, p***ed on it because it was too much. In the eighties, p***ed on a couple under $10,000 because they were too much. Finally got smart and bought one in the '90's for $14,500. See a pattern here?

As many have said here about desireable old Fords, you can buy too early, but you can never pay too much.

I don't know, it looks pretty original. It looks like it's aged pretty well, it might be worth that much in places where it snows a lot. I wouldn't pay that much for it, though. I'd offer him $12,000 and see what he says.

16,5 seems high to me, look it over real good i see rust on the front axle for that kinda money it truly shouldent be there. get a magnet check the body, ch***is and just latly i learned also the wheels... scary huh. It looks nice and you want it real bad. i have bought stuff for way to much before for and as well all know it ****s.

  21. Overpaying now or overpaying 5 years from now is still overpaying. 10k-14k in my opinion. The wiring looks shoddy. Do you know how long it has been there?

  22. Cool little truck by the way.

Looks like a nice old truck but I wouldn't count on that old engine/trans/rear lasting forever. Sure, it may be running now but you know NOTHING about it's condition inside those parts.

What's a decent, running, 21 stud engine, trans, & rear end worth? Not too much. What will is cost to rebuilt/replace those parts? A bunch. This truck is priced like a running driver but the chances are good that it is far closer to actually being a project.

I'd offer 10K & would probably be happy to walk away if that didn't get it done.

About 2-4k for a solid good setup. 1k for a junk setup.

Rebuild: about 10k for all three. Credit Layman.

What would a solid 34 truck body cost you in that condition?

High price but fair to me. It'll always need something.

I was offered more then that for mine a couple times and it looks to be in similar shape. Those trucks are desirable. Mine has had one repaint and ZERO rust/patches/bodywork...anything. If that one is the same your golden. If it has been patched up and mudded, offer what it's worth to you.

I like the guys who say they wouldn't pay over 8K....or they go for 5k around here all the time. There the same guys that think a 15K 32 3W is overpriced because you can't drive it home.

I would walk away from that one at $16,500. My personal tactic (providing I was in love with it) would be to get $10,000 in cash, lay out $9,500 on the salesmans desk and see what the reaction was. If he balks lay the other $500 down and say "it's all I've got.......will this much buy the truck?" If the answer is "NO" scoop up the cash, thank him for his time and walk out. Don't show any AT***IUDE during any of this.........only sincerity. After this fails to get the truck forget about it and keep looking. You can always check back in 2-3 months and I'll bet the truck is still there.

like any other purchase do your homework. compare it physically to other similar vehicles look at them all, add up the pluses consider ease of purchase, registration and location. drive them, get under them, research the history. do this and you will know if it's a good deal. i can't tell from here!

Wow $16,500 does sound a bit steep for that truck. Maybe $10,000 if it will run down the road. But the value is in the eyes of the buyer, just my 2 pesos. Good luck either way!

Man I wished I lived around you guys! That seems like a bargain to me if its good and solid. Any idea what it would cost to get a $2500 beater up to that condition? Check it out good and make your offer, but in my opinion you won't be paying too much.
