Sam Navarro and I are trying to get a group together, our first meet will be this Saturday, 2P.M. at the roller derby in Texas City. The car show is open to all makes and models, but the front section is for pre-64(ish) traditional rods and customs. Sam's band will be playing half time. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=529532 Join our group: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/group.php?groupid=590 Bring an ice chest and BBQ pit, this will be a tail-gate type of deal, lots of room in the parking lot. http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&e...esult&ct=***le&resnum=1&sqi=2&ved=0CBMQ8gEwAA
Richard the HAMBers that pm you or I will get front row parking. I just need to get a rough count so if you want to come out please let us know! Thanks, Sam Navarro
Nick the Derby is being VERY cool about having us take over the parking lot! Hopefully we'll have a good turn out!
I'll try and make it out. Cars staying in the garage. Richard, hoping you bring out that Rivi so I can take a look.
ole sammy navarro, whats up dude, this is brandon lewis i might make it out there on my bike but the 58 isnt running good right now, if thats cool,,
^Brandon how are you buddy? Sure thing for your bike,What's wrong with ur 58? Hope to see you there buddy its going to be a fun afternoon.
Hey Texas Cityans..wish I could be there. I started my striping career around TC. LM and Galveston. Had a shop in LaMarque. Arturo was my first customer. Did lot's of signs for the refineires too. We lived right off Logan on 4th and then on Maple in LM. Ya'll have fun. That skating rink is where my wife and I had our 2nd date in '75.
The old skating rink is now a tool rental place, the roller girls are where the old K-Mart was. They are being very cool giving me control of the show, I wish I could excluded the foreign cars etc.... But the idea is to attract people to the derby. Richard and I just thought it would be fun to get some HAMBers in the area together once a month. If ur ever near by holler at us! Cheers, Sam Navarro
A quick bump to try a find some more HAMBers in the south of houston area to come out to our first Gulf Coast HAMB meet tomorrow!
I'm afraid I will miss this one, but it would be great to see a once a month thing get off the ground.
Thanks to everyone who came out yesterday, we had a great time. Several of the Highway Horrors showed up, including President Eli Guzman. Sam put on a great show as usual.
