Model A measurement wanted

Can anyone please help me out with a measurement from a Model A ?

I would like to know the distance from the front of the body (at the firewall) to the centre of the rear axle, preferably for a 30/31 Coupe, but any other body styles welcome

That's a hard one due to the curvature of the body, but from the bottom of the firewall to the middle of the axle, I get 74 inches. That's from a 31 coupe.

Is the 74 inches following the body, or the straight length ?

(hard to explain without a picture, but imagine a piece of wood across the ch***is resting against the front of the body and measuring back to the centre of the rear axle - with the tape parallel to the centreline of the ch***is)

 

Straight line like you said. It could be off a 1/4 inch or so but that is very close.

I have a 29 roadster under an original frame, and I get 74" also. Hope it helps.

 

What are you up to Simon ? feel free to liberate any panels from that coupe particularly rear or the roof to the trunk see ya this weekend at Puke I guess.
