I just scoped out my new flathead and have some question, yes i did a search function and came up empty handed. The engine is in a 53 ford one ton flatbed truck, the engine is pretty dirty and all i can read on the heads is "canada or canadian" it is either an 8rt,8ba,8cm. My question is the water pumps, they don't have ears like a 59ab and they are not side mount like the 49-53 p***enger car. The mounts are located to the inside of the pump and connect to a bracket? that goes down to the front crossmember. I have never seen this type of water pump before, Any ideas????

Starting in 1953 with the new F-100, trucks used a central front engine mount along with two rear mounts on each side of the bell housing. The '53 flathead truck mount bolts to 4 existing bosses left over from 1932 and cast into all blocks till the end of production. The '53 pumps are basically '49 Ford car wide belt pumps. This front mount design carried over to the '54 truck Y-blocks, later FEs, etc.
