    Hey all,

The thread on the black steel wheels has me thinking. When I first got my new ride I posted asking for wheel suggestions, and I'm really diggin the black steelies, can someone photoshope them in for me? I'm thinking black steel wheels with chrome nuts and bullet caps, with or without rings, with black walls or pinner white walls, undecided. Anyone wanna take a crack at it?

No problem! Was bored at work and had some time to play with this. Personally, I like the whitewalls with the trim rings. Nice car!

thanks, its a fun ride, just working out some shortcuts the PO took on it. AKA ridding it of all of the cheesy bolt on stuff and lack-of-thought placement of things. i'm kinda diggin the rings and whites, too. it gives it a double white wall look. It needs new tires anyway, and I HATE those rims. I guess ill be saving some pennies to run to the junkyard for some steelies.

skot, you are johnny on the spot today. and DAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG those wheels look good. I never even thought about those, kinda like keystone kl***ics. I'll keep my eyes peeled for a deal on a set, probably be hard to come by some 14x6 with a 5x4.75 bolt pattern without buying new. and that ain't in the budget.

  11. Awsome job on the photoshopping Skot!

Malp***, those Magnum 500s came as options in one form or another on almost every big 3 car in the '60s - check out the swap meets. Personally I think they would look awsome - perhaps with a redline (to tie in with the paint)?

Nice little car you have there!

I'm liking the redlines with the Magnum 500s.

wow, I never imagined that car with redlines, but man, that looks awesome. I bet redlines can get kinda pricey though.

Not meanin to steal the thread but skot71 how did you do that. I am ordering wide whites for my 52 chev and wondered what they would look like with the 5 star and spider caps

It's all done in Photoshop. Finding the wheel you want in the correct angle is the hardest part. I looked at the car he had, then had to find a wheel that the picture was taken at the same angle. Easy if you've been doing Photoshop as long as I have!

I am going to use the same wheel just 3.5" wide whites on the rear and 2.5 on the front, thanks

Is this what you're looking for? Guessed on the width of the whitewall.

dang skot, you're the man! not to abuse your skills, but do you mind doing one of my fairlane (the one with the rings and white walls) with the trim insert that runs from the front of the grille to the back of the front door in white and one black? right now its plain aluminum, i've been tossing around the idea of painting this part an accent color.

Not a problem! Took 3 minutes to do. I kind of like the white, but both look nice.

Very cool! Can't wait to see the finished product.

  23. A light scuff with a Scotchbrite pad and a coat of etching primer and your white will stay there (learned this the hard way after many paintings on the aluminum trim on my car)! No need to worry about a backup set then. :D

Nice car done on a budget! Too cool!

Skot71 you're right about finding the right wheel at the right angle for Photoshopping. A search like that sometimes takes me hours! Nice work!
