I did a search and no answer, so here goes, I am not really happy with the Lokar shifter and I guess Gennie is out, and the B&M Ratchet deal is not really my style, what if anything is left? can I use an old Mustang shifter and how would I hook that up? any help please? This AOD is sitting behind my 302 in my 64 2door Hardtop- I orig had an I6 with a 4 speed Thanks in advance

I'm putting a lokar on my AOD, what in particular don't you like about the lokar? Mine isn' up and running yet, (it is however installed) but I haven't seen anything that would worry me yet.

Yes you can run the mustang shifter. Make your own shift rod and hook it up. My Dad has one in his 49 Merc with a ton of miles on it. He used to run the original rod style kick down but recently changed the kick down to cable type. Do you own a Lokar that you don't like? If so PM me.

    Thanks and good luck
