"european hot rods"- It's probably not the same as American hot rods but still.. As I am from Europe (Latvia) I want to know your opinion about "hot rods" from here. This name "European hot rods" is selfmade by me, because I can see something common between 1951 Moskvich 401 (my avatar pic) and 1940 packard 120. Is here some same-minde person? does someone at least is interested in the cars like mine?
I would like to see more pictures of your Moskovich. I do think it is cool when Europeans take old cars which we in the US are not very familiar with and build them with an American hot rod influence. The results are oftentimes very interesting and respectable, even though these foreign "hot rods" are not strictly patterned after anything that happened in the past in foreign lands.
Funny, I just posed the same question in another thread a few hours ago: "And I'm lovin this thread. It is cool to get a feeling for cl***ic car cultures around the world. It seems that the Japanese have a bit more of a lowrider feel to their culture, and I'm diggin it. Looks like a few traditional rods too. I am going to the Rockin Jalopy's Motorama in The Netherlands tomorrow, which is advertised as a traditional hot rod and custom show. I am interested to see if the European built rods have their own unique flavor the way that Japanese rods do (but different). I'm guessing they will be closer to what we call traditional rods, but will they be the same? I will report my findings, with photos." from: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?p=5883721#post5883721 I will still let you have trademark rights for the term "European Hot Rods"
Great to hear that you are interested too! This is very interesting- all this cl***ic car culture (as you said). In every part of the world are different cars and drivers, but basicly cl***ic cars has something in common everywhere. I will definitely look forward to see some more pictures. PS thanks for trademark rights!
