If he doesn't want to take it off, then maybe you can talk him into changing it a little bit? I think copyright law states that it has to be at least 20% different from the original to be "yours". Maybe even changing the name to something else like......sidewalk slaughterer? Or something? Ah forget it what do I know?

This is something I've been thinking about lately; I'm thinking about a low-key group of people with a name to tie them together, but not a club as such. Where can I find a listing of club names in use? I live in the middle of bumfuck nowhere, and have no idea if a name has been used or not.

 

Damned arena football team here in Phoenix stole our club name, Rattlers.

Every once in a while, some chowderhead will see my plaque and ask "So you like arena football, huh?" Oey vey!

 

As much as I'm not ( and probably never will be) an NSRA member, I'm wondering if they haven't got a listing of "registered" clubs somewhere. I always liked Nick's "Cradle Robbers" logo on the cowl of his RPU, but I've been using my own "CreTins" logo on my model cars.

 

If Nads thinks he is cool, maybe check him out and see if you could make him a sponser or honorary member -

i don't care how nice the guy is, when he took the direct-same logo and put it on his car without permission he should know that it was wrong.

that's worst than starting a motorcycle club (m/c) without asking for permission first from the nearest m/c out of respect.

man, if this guy did this to a motorcycle club he could be beaten or worse.

but you can also take it as a compliment, he thinks your's is the coolest, but he should of contacted you first and said, Hey, any chapters around here? and then when you said no, then he could of made his own logo.

I'm new here an don't know what i can't say to all you so if you dont like it or i break some rule just tell me.

If i had some club and a logo or picture or whatever that was like the heart & soul of my club and some Topolino guy over in fla put that pic on his car, i would not go on the internet and find out what a stand up guy he was.

I'd go on United airlines to florida and he would rub that picture off his car. i ain't talkin tough that's just what i'd do. just him and me.

Lasalle, you can handle things however you want when it happens to you. If i felt like a flight to FLA was the ONLY way to handle this I would been there and back already....I've had to do just that in the past under slightly different circumstances. I'm really TRYING to be an upstanding citizen of the HOTROD community....and this little globe we all live on. I'm a homeowner, business owner, married, and maybe one day will have kids, and I'm tryin to deal with things in my life in a mature and adult way. I don't have such a big chip on my shoulder as i used to, but don't worry, I will never let anyone walk all over me, or anything I care about. I have always stood up to people who felt like they had a reason to fuck with me, even if they were twice as big, or rich or well known. All I'm doing is giving this guy a chance, thanks to the HAMB, I have friends who are willing to help, so this guy gets a chance to show us what a great dude he really is..........as far as kissing Draglinks ass......thanks for asking, I guess I should take that as a compliment too!

Actually Vic that's been done along with the deathead on the gas tank. Its not normaly handled politely like the Pedestrian Killers are suggesting.

 

I'm really hoping I don't offend anyone here, especially Dan, but damnit, I want to be a Pedestrian Killer. I mean it, seriously, I want to run those fuckers over, then back up and do a burn out. CA pisses me off in that respect, people just waddle across major roads and expect you to stop for their sorry ass. Anyhow, I understand and respect the desire to keep a club's name under control, but if the club ever decided to take the name "public", i'd like to have a plaque with a tire spinning out over a skull. That would RULE!
