I've spent what I got from you and half again as much on the work that's been done on the coupe. The shop it was in kept dragging out the work and charging more money. I finally pulled it out of that place.

I traded a running driving model A roadster for a '32 3wd project that was a chopped & channeled running car in 1948-1959......had no engine, trans, or rear end...BUT with a frame, solid body, grille shell, headlights, cycle fenders, springs, frt axle and its' history .....I made out like a bandit and the party with my A has had years of fun with a driver..... A Model A will never be a '32 (or '34 for that matter).....do whatever works best for you...you or someone will get that 34 on the road

I'm keeping it. I've contacted Brockmans about some exhaust, so I'll be hauling it to the muffler shop and have exhaust put on. Bring it back home and do as much work as I can, than get ahold of Scott (aka Blue Collar Guy) at Blue Collar Customs and see if his shop has the room & time to dial in the motor and get it going.
Like some have said, down the road I would regret trading it plus I could probably never afford another one.

If you cant do the work then trade...its the price you pay!!

If you cant do the work then either which way, you are going to 'lose" some money. Whether you keep the 34 and pay someone to get it going for you, that is money out of your pocket or do the trade and "lose" the money on what the 34 is worth compared to the Model A.

Or, Alternatively you could do what the rest of us have done...get stuck in and learn. Join a club, ask lots of questions, read books, go to nightschool, make mistakes, do it again, learn from it, and at the end you have an accomplishment!!

I would give my left testicle for a hemi powered 34 like that!! But then again I may just need both balls just to drive it!!!!

Both are very cool, but you gotta keep the '34! You will be happy you did in the spring when it's all done.

A nice wiring kit can be had for 400.00, exhaust can be done for you at a shop for 300.00. Buy a 30 rack and invite a buddy over, you can wire and fire in a weekend.

    Keep the 34.

Wow, just found this thread, even though it's several months old.

Back in '76, I wanted a '34 Ford 5 window coupe, but couldn't afford a '34 (even at 1976 prices) so I bought a '30 Model A coupe. I enjoyed the '30, but a '34 is what I really wanted. In fact, I still want one. My top three favorite cars are a '56 Nomad (which I've owned for 20 years), a '40 Ford Deluxe coupe and a '34 Ford 5 window (yeah, I like the 5 windows better than the 3 windows, though they're all nice)

If you haven't already made a decision, I'd encourage you to keep the '34. Or sell it to me, which ever you prefer! Best wishes whatever you decide

im personally like the 34 better...and i sure do believe fixing her up is worth the wait to drive her.
if your worried about finance...i would sell the hemi "since its more expensive to build but someone else will pay good money for a solid core"
you could go with a cheaper engine.

but if your really at the age in your life, where you just want to go out and enjoi a ride without worrying about the next thing thats going to brake down on you...then go with the freshly built roadster.
