Would like to raise the front end of my 63 fairlane, have seen some kits related to "donk" and high rollers, does anyone have any ideas, I am not ready to install a straight axle, just want to raise it a few inches. I have also seen an old Mr. Gasket kit, has anyone used that style?

If you just want to raise it a few inches, just put stiffer springs in the front, big block mustang springs immediately come to mind. You can also add affect by lowering the back just a tad. When i put a 514 in my 64 fairlane, i put big block mustang springs in it, just to keep the oil pan off the ground. i would imagine that with a small block it would have set maybe just a little higher than level and with a leaf out of the back would have looked pretty tough if you're wanting that nose high(er) stance. . Dont get carried away raising that IRS frontend though cause it's rough on the suspension geometry. . . If you want your front bumper titty-high, put an axle under it. .

A lot of those "donks" use raised spindles.

I got on a DONK website by mistake once. They list raised spindles and springs and special steering arms to raise the front ends. Unfortunately it's mostly for GM intermediate cars. These cars might not look to cool to us old timers, but at least their trying to do it right! It's cool if you have a Chevelle or a GTO that you want raise w/o a tube axle conversion. All the parts bolt on. Spindles are forged not fabricated. I don't think they make anything for an early Fairlane though.
