I kicked this around on the Fordbarn and got some good suggestions, but I didn't remember if posted anything in here or not. ( It's hell gettin old ) What I'm lookin for is some suggestions on getting more room in my Model A roadster. I'm a big guy, 6"1", 275 and I feel like I need a shoehorn to get in the damned thing. As long as I wanteed a roadstre and as much as I've spent on doing this the way I want it, I don't want to get rid of it, so I need to make some room.
I went out and found a middle seat out of a minivan and it looks like it could be made to work. I'd like some pics of seats in Model A roadsters tht you have. I've decide that the little riser that sits under the seat back has to go. Then I can move the regular seat pan back to gain a little leg room and if the van seat will work I can put it back further than the original seat back sat. Less room for teh p***engers in teh rumble seat, but it'll probably just be grandkidss anyway.
So send me some idea and pictures of what ya got. I'm sorry if this is a sort of repost from before, but like I said, the memory may not be the first to go, but it's close.

  2. I used a S10 seat in my roadster. Chopped out about 5" in the center so it just fits between the doors. Used the original foam (sectioned that too) and added some additional foam. Wrapped it all up with a new seat cover. The back tilts forward for easy access to the trunk. Also sectioned out about 1" from the seat feet. It works really well but never as comfy as the seats in my F150. Also added two electric seat heater kits from Speedway.

Yeah.lose the riser under the seat and use that mini van seat...it will drop it lower. a roadster is tight because you really don't have too much room to cheat and move it back too much like in a coupe . Getting rid of that riser will help lots though.

I used a middle seat from a Mazda MPV van in my A roadster. Has a track and the back tilts.
