Freebie steering wheel for my project

    I had to cut a mesquite tree down to get it loose, it leaves your hands black when you touch it and it's cracked in places but it looks pretty cool.

    Not sure what it came off of, everyone at the shop had the day off when I went by to pick it up, so I couldn't ask the "know it all's" :p.

    Now you need to go back and get a chunk from that Mesquite tree. I understand it's a beautifully grained and colored wood, and it would make a great horn ****on to go with the wheel.

    Looks like a Model A wheel, but I could be wrong.

    The tree wouldn't be thick enough, it was still pretty young. I hope it doesn't grow back, it was sticking up through a model T and was starting to separate the front fender from the running board. Which is why I initially cut it down.
