Some of you may have seen our post a few months back regarding quarter panel patches for 30-31 coupes that are more realisticly sized and that actually fit. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=497290&highlight=model+quarter+patch

We are finally in the stage where we can have the 3d imaging done and the machine work on the dies started. Our goal is to use our connections and rescources to make a product we can be proud of and sell with confidence that it fits. This will be a product that the average joe with a cutoff wheel and welder can install without extinsive sheet metal tools and skills.

Here is where we need some help. We need someone in Georgia or within driving distance with a coupe or a set of real nice quarter panels to volunteer a day. We need a car or quarter that is bondo free and in good condition to have scanned to make the 3d file used to CNC the dies. We are willing to work out a deal with someone, whether its cash Reimbursement or a set of quarter patches for another project.

I look foward to hearing anyones ideas or suggestions and hopefully a good template car so that we can get these things out to the public. You guys will be the first to know and have first rights to them at a special HAMB price.

Shoot me a message or better yet call me at 404 825 8717, my name is Will. Thanks alot!

Bump to keep it up top.

  3. I would offer up my 31 coupe, but I have suspicions that it may have been hit and repaired at some point. It may be off a little. Hopefully someone with a bone stocker will see this.

If you want stock quarters try posting on fordbarn. Lots of stock A's there.

I know Maine is a long way from Georgia, and I don't know what kind of mould making process you'd want to do, but my aunt has a bone stock coupe I'm not allowed anywhere near. If I explained it was for a good cause, she might be willing to let hers be used for this. I will see her on Thanksgiving.

Remember that these coupe parts were originally stamped all over the place across America and at different times during the production run. There can be noticeable differences.

When I tacked my coupe together I used parts from a bunch of guys that sent me their pieces from when they chopped their tops. No two were alike. The reveals and body lines were all slightly different.

rgg, we dont have to have perfect, just straight from the bottom to 14 or so inches up around the fender reveal.

Anything happening with the patch panels yet??? Just ordered a set of howell's and they really needed a lot of work to get to line up. Still not happy with them yet.

i am seriously interested as well. I have purchased 3 RH corners from Howells, because I need the "tall' ones, and this 3rd one is the same as the 2 previous ones. Its just not a very good stamping. The LH "tall" one from Howells was much better. Howells will let me return the panel, but i still need a tall RH corner panel. Pls advise when/if these panels are available.
