this is a joke... i hate the asrf ever since i phoned con to get information on registration and all i got was BS. can i say that? ********? or will i get sued? all i an say is thank **** i have full rego and i dont need the asrf. i agree that it may have been an ok org in the past but its done a big fat nothing for me in the time i've been into hot rods. i sent every single email address i could find on the asrf website a letter explainig my disappointment and urging those within to org to use thier powers to stop this insane course of action. this will damage the image of the asrf badly if enough people know... so thats why i plan on telling as many people as i can. danny

Traditional rodders will abandon the SR rego scheme........They'll "disappear" into the regular registration system, and, for all intents, there will be no "street rods" on the road. You'll see them...you'll hear them....but try to find them.....???? "All I can find are 1932 Fords, sir....??" The value of original fully-registered rods will rise......No new rods will be built.....Survivors will be the new "gold". Australians will invade US shores to take the steel back to the southern land and re-register them in a new home, unperterbed by outdated laws and "national guidelines"....hot rods will become the new rebellion, not the bucket-seated, velour-clad rolling rocking-horses of old men.....

You guy's mentioned that he is not even a rodder? Sounds like this guy was planted to bring down the orginization. Think about it, he does things that ruffles some feathers, people speak out about it, he get's "offended",sue's, people are outraged against ASRF, drop membership, federation disbands, no more hotrods. Sorry to hear about all this **** thats goin on, it really ****s. I hope you guy's find refuge here to talk and listen in peace. HAVE FUN !!! Forget about this drama , but allways remember the guy who started it !!! ( Make him PAY for his stupidity !!! ) I have never "fit-in" in any club, because my favorite cars are ANYTHING that I like , so with all this catergories, I tend to fall out . I have allways had my focus on " Trad-Hot rods " , but still wouldn`t feel too uncomfy driving a `58 300SL as a daily driver .. ASRA .. Who was those first guys that made the rules , and what do they think of this drama ??? Guess they HATE this as much as most of you "Aussie-rodders" do !! I know where there is a Studebaker forum for sale pretty damn cheap. It wouldn't take much to reconfigure it for the Aussie's needs, I'm sure. Then it would be hosted in the US & be immune to the ASRF.
Seeing this kind of thing saddens me. We think of Oz as the land of Crocodile Dundee. Guys who can take care of themselves and don't take any ****. Then something like this happens. The only people I fear are those who "know what's best for me". That's why I live in Idaho. Liberals and lawyers don't own this place yet. Well, except for Sun Valley... We can band together when needed here or strike out on our own without too much interference either way. It's tamed down some, but it's still the old west at heart. I always thought Oz and NZ were pretty close to the same way. Most of the ones I've met from there just like people here. Working together, but not led like a band of sheep. Kind of a group of individuals. In short, my kind of people. If I couldn't live here, I wouldn't mind living there. Lately tho, it seems like the sheepdogs of the world are beginning to win. Those who know what's best for us have been pushing their new world order, politically correct agendas just about everywhere. Anything out of their control immediatly goes to the lawyers or gets regulated away. The more they win, the more control they want. Anything that doesn't fit the neat regulated ordered PC society THEY want gets snuffed out. The only winners are the sheepdogs who control the flock and the wolves (lawyers) who take out any sheep who stray or force them back under the control of the sheepdog. Inside the flock all the sheep see is other sheep. Maybe the sheep should start banding together on their own and give the sheepdog and the wolves a swift kick in the nuts.

What I was trying to say with all that above is this. It's your organization. Work to get it back to what you think it should be. Let the powers that be know you're not sheep. Looks like a gr*** roots effort to get back your right to speak is in order as well.
I doubt very much there has been any conspiracy to bring the ASRF down. I do however, believe that this new head honcho has either misunderstood or been misled as to what the Hot Rod Internet site is (soon to be was) about. Apparently the official stance is that the Aussie forum is 'multi-million dollar organisation' out to steal members from the ASRF. Huh! A privately run Internet Forum that allows Aussie hot rodders to communicate, share information, educate fellow rodders and generall have a good time is seen as a THREAT? I think part of the problem is this guy was employed to bring the ASRF 'into the 21st century' using best practice business principles etc... but it would appear this new guy has ABSOLUTELY NO understanding of what an Internet forum is. I'd even venture to say that he wouldn't even have a clue how to use it. After a week of discussion on the matter there was no response from anyone in an official ASRF position. Reason? Probably don't know how to turn a computer on. Now I wonder if that's 'casting aspersions' at those people. (Something we have been accused of)
Exactly what I was thinking. I always thought Australia had pretty much the same rights as we did, apparently I was wrong. So can you Ozzies get in trouble for running your mouth on the HAMB too? Or does it only apply to Australian websites?
