Just bought a 29 Tudor today! It's a runner but will be making some changes right away.

Losing the ugly wheels and bolting on a set of Torque Thrusts with 32X12 rear. Probably change out the tail lights for 40 Chevy's, big headlights, flip open gas cap, finned valve covers, and lose the ugly billet plugwire harnesses.

Was going to go tri-power but may keep the mini-blower and replace the carb with a couple G2's.

    Any other suggestions?

Yea , I have to agree with you on the shitty wheels it has ! What the hell was the last owner thinking of with those wheels ?
As for tail lights , I always liked the round Pontiac lights myself but the ones on it now look good !
Yes that billet shit has to go ! Looks to much like a street rod !
Valve covers will look a lot better with some finned ones like the old style Edelbrock .
For the engine top , if you like multi-carbs a lot , how about putting a 3x2 on top of the blower . You could find the 4x2 intake that was made for the Chev . I think they were called the "Man of War" or something like that . Of course you could use an injection set up too and get ride of the blower ! An injected engine always speaks for itself !
Headlights could use a smaller one would look better too .

Even if you don't do everything , the wheels and billet has got to go !

  3. Perfect the way it is except those shitty rollers.
Find some tall skinny bias ply white walls and some 5" wide steel rims or artillery wheels before you take it out to show it off.

I dicked around with mine the same way.

    Spork,
Potentially a nice rod, following your suggestions. Just changing the wheels will go a long way. I'd also consider holes in the visor and possibly some pinstripes.Good luck with it.

    Cool A!

I thought about going a 60's style with chrome Rader mags and white wall cheater slicks. Maybe a white interior. I have the Torque Thrusts with bigs n little so will bolt those on for now.
Will definitely play around with different looks.

Hadn't thought of holes in the visor but I like that idea. Thanks.

I like the Pontiac lights too but will have to measure then to see if they'll fit over the existing holes after I take out the billet flush mounts (I hate billet!). I think the 40 Chevy's will fit. If not I'll have to weld in filler plates which is really no big deal (don't care for the color that much and will repaint eventually).

Valve covers are an easy swap out.
I thought about a standard tri-power set up but you see a lot of them. 4 X 2's would be cool. The motor is a 327, cammed up pretty good but don't know what the compression is or how much boost is run now.Even though the blower is a B&M mini I kind of like like it and thought about milling of the B&M logos and building a custom plenum either 2 or 3 Rochester G2's like I did on my '34 (which I very reluctantly had to sell a couple years ago).

It'll kinda look like the Munstermobile if you paint it black. Cooool huh. Hodgepodge heaven. Wheels and visor aren't gonna make any difference.

  10. what you wanted to do sounds find, keep the blower mount 3x2 on it and add pin-stripes or two tone it would have been nicer a darker color, work with what you have.

Looks like a good start to traditional rod. It would look good with an off white firewall, cut down 32 grill, traditional valve covers, some wide whites with black steel wheels, and it probably wouldn't hurt to ditch the side pipes.

Got rid of the ugly wheels and tires and put on a set I had.
