what will fit a borg warner T5 drive shaft ?

    Hi,
    I encounter a vicious problem here.
    I have mounted a Jeep CJ7 borg warner T5 on a very nice french flathead,
    so far no problem.
    but my T5 exit shaft is a 23 splines with a diameter of 1.24in.
    I cannot find any slip yoke that fit onto it !!!!

  2. Looks to me like it wants a transfer case not a driveshaft. Not familiar with 4WD but there just might not be a shaft for that.

    I agree, looks like a transfer mount. If it is indeed for a transfer case maybe you can pull the female coupler out of a transfer and have a yoke machined from it.

Ouch, I was just going to suggest that the easiest and cheapest way to deal with this might be to sell off the Jeep trans and get one that came from a 2WD vehicle (If I recall correctly, 4cyl S10 trans are the hot ticket for a flathead) but then I realized that you are actually in France, and the wreckers (assuming there are any) are probably not full of S10's. Good luck.

    If it were me, I would start a little research into what would be required in the way of parts to change the output shaft and rear extension housing. Not only do you have a bastard size/spline, you've got nowhere to put a rear output shaft bushing or seal. Somebody on HAMB may even have the parts, once you figure out what you need. Rear output shaft and housing are seldom damaged in transmission failure/destruction, and should be readily available.

  6. I would sell that T5 and get one from a Mustang or S10.

    The Jeep T5s used to sell real well. I parted out many Cherokee's and the T5;s sold quickly.

    Crazydaddyo has a adapter for 5t 4x4 trannys. Keeps the close drive line. It is for a s10 one but he did the jeep t5 first. I am sure he can help you. Search jeep t5 and you will find him.

    Thanks all for your replies.
    I know Borg Warner T5s are quickly solde, I know something about it.
    It was so hard to get one at first time !!
    So I'm not ready to sell this one.
    I chose the Borg Warner T5 instead of the S10 because I keep the original Ford 32 power torque.
    I will take the advice to searchfor the transfert case adapter.
    I will cut it and weld it to the original Ford 32 yoke.
    I have contacted Crazydaddyo a long time ago, he told me he don't have the adapter for the T5 and proposed me to build one for me and for only 1000$
    thanks you Crazydaddyo but at twice the price you sale the S10 adapter!!!

    thanks again and if anybody come out with a better idea...
