hello folks just found a 1964 rambler 660 cl***ic traded a gokart for it and drove it home its a 6 cly the weird thing is it has a 5 speed
Nice car. I had a 63 Cl***ic that I drove last year as a daily driver. Bought for 500 bucks, put 7000 miles on it and rebuilt the generator for 20 bucks. The motor was pretty wore when I bought it. It blew up last fall and I sold it for 350 bucks.
Welcome, nice to see another Rambler here! Does it have a real stick shift five speed or the Rambler "Twin-Stick" setup? T-S is a three speed trans with a big jump between 2nd and 3rd so it can be shifted 1 - 2 - 2+OD - 3 - 3+OD -- five forward speeds. Just not fast shifting! If that's what you have be careful about down-shifting into first! In fact, DON"T DO IT unless you're at a complete stop or all but stopped. The little T-96 trans used behind the sixes isn't that strong, and no synchro on first. Lots get chipped teeth from down-shifting into first.
