Okay hambers, I asked this on the Fordbarn and they may have a posse out looking for me as we speak, but here goes. I have a rebuilt engine in my A, counterbalanced crank, B cam, Snyders 5.5 head, lightened flywheel and V-8 clutch. right now I have my stock intake and exhaust on it, but I have a nice tube header for it and once I get an intake for it I'll be running a Holley 94 carb. I want it to sound throaty, not like a Model A with no muffler. I even thought of making a collector extension with two pipes coming out so i could run duals since my header isn't a dual outlet header. Any ideas or feedback? Single or duals? what kind of muffler(s).

IMO, and I have owned a few bangers and worked on a few more: As long as the exhaust from all 4 cyl. joined together at one point downstream of the ports, it's gonna have the unmistakeable sound of a 4 cyl. inline,
Only if you can seperate the cyl. @ ports, preferably, but at least in pairs. are you gonna change that basic sound.

its always gonna sound like a tractor but i would think a small diameter straight pipe out the back would give it some bark
