Can any of the photoshoppers out there please help change the color of the scallops on this car from purple to ??????

Id like to see them in a pearl white or something similar. Any help is appreciated.

Ok, so I'm pretty much doing this backwards but here it is anyways. This is my girlfriend Nicki's car. She picked it up a few months back and we have been cleaning it up and fixing things a little at a time. For some reason there are people that seem to think this is my car and I let her drive it..... Nope.... This is her car, she picked it, paid for it, and makes all the decisions about what happens to it. I had to go through the motor and get the car running and from there out the ball was in her court. As you can see, the skirts and the bumper guards are gone (first night it was in my shop haha), next it was those goofy *** hubcaps, and today we got her new wide whites mounted up! So the next move is to get rid of the Purple on the stripes.

  4. Gee Roger, maybe you should have put "g***er" in the topic line you would have had 1000 comments by now... "can someone help photoshop this '54 g***er project " lol...

  5. I'd say you have great taste in girlfriends!! She certainly has good taste in cars!

These are quick and dirty, but hopefully they will give you an idea or two.

    First, the white pearl:

    Or a silver metalic:

Perhaps a silver-blue (or light blue):

I've always liked gold along with gunmetal blue:

Of course striping always sets scallops off well and makes them look more "finished" in my opinion.

    Hope this helps!

I was going to suggest a light blue. Looks good with it. I'm liking that Silver a lot.

I forgot about those LTD Bullet caps.... the car certainly has improved alot. Now if we can get past having to push it into shows we will be on the right track. Ha ha.... just kidding.

Those photo shops look good... but what would you think about a darker color for the scallops/stripes? Maybe a darker blue or a dark gray?

Wow, Dave those look great! Thanks for taking the time to do those, Nic and I appreciate the effort. Drew, Nicki and I were thinking about a dark grey or charcoal metallic at one point but were worried it would make the car look to heavy but it would be worth a look if someone wanted to give it a shot. Thanks again!

  10. I like the contrasting colors, a dark scallop on a dark car is like ghost flames to me... why bother. I know lots of people like the stelth look, but I like a hot rod or custom that says ''Hey look at me" just my opinion....

The white and mustard color looks pretty cool ,

But I think that the SILVER is the **** !

ADD a little metallic and it will be double poo poo.

By the way (double poo poo) is REAL GOOD.

  12. Interesting thought DRUGASM, ...the right shade of Dark blue could look good too. Try parking the Ford next to a dark blue Dodge Magnum - I think that colour might work:

  13. I think the tone value is too similar to be effective with the charcoal/blue combo, but it's easier to visualize with a pic right?

Now you have plenty to think about!

Dave, thanks again for helping us out with the photoshop work. Nicki agreed with you about the tone value of the charcoal stripes. She is a great artist and she had the same problem with the grey that you did, as she put it "The tone values are so close that if you were to take a black and white picture of the car it would look like it was all one color." Right now she is really leaning towards either a pearl white or a white base with a micro flake that goes from white to light blue as the light changes.

  15. You are very welcome! Sounds like Nicki has a vision for her Ford. The pearl sound nice and the little changes like repainting the scallops (if you can call any painting "little" these days) and switching caps and tires to personalize the car and make it hers sound great. I think she picked a sweet little two door to start with and I look forward to seeing pics of the car when it's done! Don't forget to post 'em! ;)
