Check Mopar resto catalogs. A friend of mine had a nice looking one on an A, maybe off a Charger? Not for sure but it looked good. I don't know how much they cost though.

I'll check Tractor Supply this week. However, in all my years of farming, i"ve never seen anything even close to this. I do like the Huge screw in types on the up to '80's Caterpillars.

Yeah the caps are the same pretty much from the Shelby Cobras to the Viper CTS. I don't imagine Mopar performance is going to be able to beat the Mooneyes price. But thats on my list to swing in and try to price one up.
I know nothing about old Mopars, so I can't even think what older models ran these type fillers.

I did some scavaging at a couple airplane wrecking yards, thinking that an airplane application may exist, but too no avail. I did get a set of seats that are absolutely ***s!

Check out VW/Dune Buggy places, or next time your at the news stand, flip through a magazine for the ads.

They advertise polished aluminum flip caps for $25-35, I think they say GAS on them, they're probably for a marine application but if youre on the cheap, it will work.

Chargers have one style and late 60's Barracuda have another. I plan to use a Spitfire flip tip cap. Oh, also, 70 Mustang had yet another style.

There is a B-24 fuel door and gas cap on ebay right now.

  11. I see them on speed boats...!!! They're popular because the cap won't fall in the Lake...!:D

'60s Style, I envy you, you got one like what I want and for $20!!!!!

Ebay is loaded with the little 2 3/4 inch ones. With this craze over the new Mini's alot of these have hit the market for them. They are exactly what I want only too small. And I'm too cheap to pony for a moon one, Guess I'll continue to watch ebay, and hit the Pate swapmeet here in a month or two and see if I can track one down. I was fishing, and hopeing there was another source that I hadn't sniffed out that was making these.

Thanks fellas for all the leads.

Look at boat supply source. I got one off of eBay($45.00) that was listed as a boat gastank filler. It's polished cast stainless steel ,really heavy, great quality ,marked "Attwood".Has a nice ,spring loaded latch and the hinged lid seals to the housing with a captive gasket...Those cast aluminum "eBay specials" are really small & cheesy.
Look at these to see if they are what you want:

Try older Jag XJ6's . Junkyards usually always have one somewhere . If I remeber right I think they had two one on each rear quarter. I've got a pair and there cheap.

Kind of weird since I have just started looking for gas caps for my A. I saw the flip top Mooneyes in a recent mag,but the price is scary-I'm now looking at a screw top filler -called deck fillers in marine technology. Check out West Marine (www.westmarine.com) and look at their online catalog page 314. They've got two fillers, one stainless and one chrome plated bronze that are $30-55. Not quite sure what kind of neck they've got for connecting your hose.

Airkooled beat me to it. Factory 5's cap, although more expensive than alot of the ones pictured, is more realistic as for a LeMans type cap. Their caps look authentic, but allow the use of a regular screw-in type gas cap which is concealed underneath. Their idea is that it will not leak fuel under hard driving conditions, like the original ones did.

The British Jaguar unit from 80'ies four door car is quite nice oval-shape and flip flop style. Sorry no picture but a friend of mine put one into his 37-Ford.

Like BlueOval said, you use a regular gas cap underneath the Factory Five one. Don't ask me how I know, but a Mustang 5.0 filler neck and cap work really good. And replace the stock Mustang cap with a "Perma-Cap". I bought one at Autozone. It's like a regular gas cap with a p***-through for the gas pump nozzle. So you just pop the "LeMans" cap and shove the nozzle though the Perma-Cap when you fill up.

The mounting flange on the F5 cap has no pre-drilled holes. So it will adapt to any flat surface. Drill the holes where you want them.

I have no stock in Factory Five. But they've impressed me with their products and engineering and service. Not that I know anything about a certain fibergl*** car that looks a lot like a different cl***ic sports car orginally built by a certain chicken farmer.

I have one just like the last 2 that say "gas" on the spacetruck, it was 25 bucks, I think, brand new from a boat supply place. They have one that looks just like it made of stainless for twice that.

i used an early 70s triumph tr7(i think) roadster cap it looked just like that..also used the gas tank. it fit betwwen the rails on my old 32 pickup, and just the flip cap came tthru the bed floor.. it was only 7 or 8 gallons but it fit and worked great . best of all it was 20 bucks at the junkyard, and they mount in the trunck of the triumph, so no rust, and easy to remove
