I have a 1968 427 casting# 3916321 . My question is the stamped code on the front deck... F U J I M O ...it is stamped vertical... I can not find anything about this code. The heads that are on it are Winters foundry aluminum casting# 3919842 . Thank you for any help. No, this is not a joke. I do know the other meaning... Do you think this is factory or re-stamped?

Someone's idea of a joke or they decided to stamp their name on it..... Is the 427 a 4-bolt block???

Yes, it is a 4 bolt. It has a GM casting on the crank, but havent gotten any deep than that. I thought it could be possible it was restamped cuz it has been O-ringed for the supercharger.

If it was oringed, it is also possible that the block has been decked, hence new stamp.

Yeah, the block has been O-ringed for supercharger...i just thought maybe something was special about it considering the motor is a L88/L89, Didnt think someone would mess with a motor like that!

back in the old days you could go to your local chevy dealer and buy another one pretty reasonable, so they did whatever they needed to do to the block to go fast. And have fun.

grod589 beat me to it...but he's correct - and that's ALL that stamping can mean.

guys used to write that all over the place...suppose it replaced "Kilroy was here" for those of us born at end of or after WWII.

Probably the machinist that O-ringed the block. Lots of L88/L89 engines wound up being uprated for full-blown (no pun intended) racing purposes....back 'in the day' nobody cared about the rarity of those parts.

What do you think a motor like that is worth now?

Hard to say, since we don't know anything about the rest of the motor, ie what parts it has, what condition it's in, etc.

if you want to find out, put it on epay for a dollar with no reserve.
