It's very sad to see, to be honest I spent more time on the HAMB than there, and found the HRI through the HAMB but I sincerly hope the guys don't lose out in the end..and I'm sure there will be a huge amount of support for the HRI in any court cases etc. The ASRF are idiots if this guy isn't GONE asap. Also, serveal have said we need to rebel and go it alone...but as previously mentioned we don't have the lax rego rules that other countries enjoy, most ppl's concerns here are based around getting their rods and customs legally on the road. No point building beautiful, fast rods if you dont get to drive them. And org's like the ASRF are seen as been a bit more politician friendly than some of us young hoodlums. The young guys are starting to build more 'f**k u" rods and aiming to get them on the road...I have faith the new-blood has been underestimated by groups such as the ASRF and will rise up, as some of the Street Rod based org's destroy themselves. I am COMPLETELY speaking out of ingnorance of Australian law but couldn't you move the operations "off shore" and have a foreign administrator (involvement could be very limited) who is not subject to Australian law? I wouldn't think they (the govt.) could block participation. Just a thought... I wish you guys the best and you're always welcome here...

Guys Ive been following this on HRI and have read EVERYTHING here and there about this situation - and have finally decided to comment. Im very angry, disturbed and fearful that this could very well be what the authorities intend to do - divide and therefore eliminate us and our "troublesome" interests. I feel sorry for Greg and his family - however there are a number of reasons why this has happened. I never posted as much on the HRI like I do on the HAMB, but I lurked there daily and often had a good laugh at the things that were going on. Danny, good work and well done man.....we should ALL email these people and let them know how we feel....restraint SHOULD be the order of the day. but being succinct and to the point without BS is needed in an y communication with the ASRF. I agree with everything Smokin Joe has said....unfortunately this is happening worldwide, NOT just in Oz...part of the New World Order as mentioned. Unfortunately in OZ we dont have a cons***ution like our US brothers....that pretty much means that these *******s can do what they want till election time. Were supposed to be an independant, "free" country...well im here to tell you thats ********. This guy have been recently appointed needs to show some muscle and in his eyes we have given him the ammo to do so. Kinda like the Y2K bug that didnt really exist, had to create a problem to justify outsourcing to all these "IT experts" to solve a problem that didnt really exist. Im in the process of nearly finishing my 32 3W and I was contemplating joining the ASRF for unity reasons - guess what you can take your membership and stick it where the sun dont shine. If they dont get rid of this guy, I WONT be joining the ASRF PERIOD !! So I cant attend the Nationals.....stiff ****. Whilst I agree that a National body that represents ALL rodders and their interests should exist (God knows we need one ) we don't NEED a National Body to be targeting the very people who they are supposed to represent. What I really dont understand is this....if this gentleman REALLY understood hot rodders/rodding, then the LAST thing he would have done is hide behind a lawyer/forum instead of facing his "detractors" . It may be piddle **** compred to your guys problems, but we boycotted the Nats East and got an empty lot right outside the gate and had our own thing. And you're right, we do have that at***ude and I believe it's one of the great things about this country. It just has to be applied for the right situation and THIS is not that time. Hey Boris, the first thing we should be doing is sending off a barrage of emails to all in the ASRF. Send one to the gentleman in quaestion, and copy ALL the state delegates with same. We need to put some heat on this guy....its appears he's been employed with/on a corporate basis...so the communications should be to ta all and sundry and relect the seriousness of the situation. And yes, the "she'll be right mate" at***ude MSUT not be adhered to in this situation. The emails must also to factual and to the point....and make no bones about the situation and the likely outcomes to both the ASRF AND hot rodders Down Under. Pls do not stoop to name calling, teeth gnashing and vulgar threats, as this will only serve to diminish the purpose of the emails. The cons***uents of the ASRF need to take ACTION NOW....do not let this slide. Rememebrr there IS NO ASRF without members....if this gentleman was recruited to boost the profile of the ASRF and raise mebership levels...boy has he gone about it the wrong way. hey rat, why dont you post your draft letter on here, to give everyone else that may need it something to work from. if people are willing to take it this far, why dont we (errr I) put together a flyer or brochure we can hand out to people alerting ASRF members of what is happening. I'm sure when any ASRF member comes face to face with one of us handing out a flyer and explaining the situation we put a human face to this issue. I dont think many ASRF members are aware of the situation or if they are, of the truth. Danny

Just posted on the HRI.... Today we mourn the p***ing of a beloved old friend, Mr. Common Sense. Mr. Sense had been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such value lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm and that life isn't always fair. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with ***ual har***ment for kissing a cl***mate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realise that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a drop in her lap, and was awarded a huge settlement. Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust, his wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason. He is survived by two stepbrothers; My Rights and Ima Whiner. Not many attended his funeral because so few realised he was gone. If you still remember him, p*** this on. some one over at the ASRF is suffering from uncontollable mangina syndrome, its symptoms are, but not limited too; poor decisions made in haste, inability to communicate, and "having the finger off the pulse". Someone with time, energy and the drive to motivate an alternative to the current governing body is required to step up and mop up all those loose free radicals who have broken and ununited themselves from the bad machine. I agree Rat, but I'm 'on the list' so although I've been quite vocal on the forums, I'm just waiting to see what prevails. Danny - There's already a 'Open Letter' to Mr Tudman on the HRI site. You might want to check it out. It would save re-doing a lot. I think it's from the perspective of an unhappy ASRF member though, so it may not be suited to your particular position. Personally, I'm still a member of the ASRF (I think, my dues are... due???) and I will probably remain a member. There's been a lot of hard work done over the last 25 years and I for one don't fancy doing it all over again. You have to remember that the ASRF was formed back when hot rods were practically BANNED from Aussie roads. It took a bunch of like-minded guys to band together and get ORGANISED to keep them on the road. WTF happened??? ****ing politics! That's what happened!

There is alot of good information there and ideas all of which you have just stopped. Alot of the members are ASRF members and they are now seriously doubting rejoining, surely this can not be good. Good Luck! I belive the complant targets the owner of the forum and some members only! Has to do with comunications typed openly for all to see about some changes made in ASRA. My guess is comments, opinions were expressed between members of that forum and and read by a lurker ASRA official, he didnt like there way of Freely thinking, expression, tone, having concers, grievance, having questions, open disscussion, or whatever! Its unclear if the offened ASRA Offical took part in actual discessions on the forum. What is know is that some kind changes were made in ASRA and brought to the forum for open discussion for whoever wanted to participate. The ASRA offical didnt like this participation and took legal action. What is clear is the defination of a forumAmerican Heritage Dictionary) 2. A. Any public meeting place for open discussion! B. Any medium for open discussion, tv, radio, ect. I would like to know more about this myself, it concerns us all!

Thanks Jimbob. I replied to Choco in the time-honoured Aussie way. Me... You... Car Park... NOW! Seriously, here is the original post that started the whole discussion. I'd be interested to know how many were even aware of what has been happening. In it's wisdom the ASRF (not sure just where it's coming from within the Federation yet) have decided that it would be a really good thing to start another National organisation for 1948 to 1971 vehicles. (I have been told the name of the new organisation and will update with details soon, I'd rather wait and get it right than give the wrong info.) Anyway the ASRF is going to fund the set up of this new organisation and it will have a similar administrative structure to the ASRF (duplication?) with State Directors etc, but there will be one administrator at the top. Be aware, this is not a proposal, this is going to happen. Evidently this has been put to a NCC meeting and 6 of the State Directors have said yes to it. I have several issues with this. 1. It's all happened too quickly to be a good thing. 2. There has been no information or consultation or feedback at club level. 3. Why do we need this new organisation and what are the benefits 4. In my opinion, a structure such as this is divisive, it will only serve to divide and separate the pre 48's and the post 48's. I urge all club members to talk to their DC Rep's to confirm what is happening and what I have written here. What it is I'm asking all ASRF members to do is write to the NCC care of the ASRF head office and tell them what you think. If you are happy with this new direction of the Federation, the lack of proper consultation on what is such a significant new direction for the organisation, that you State Director is satisfying your wishes and acting correctly on your behalf, tell them that. But more importantly, if you are not happy with the formation of this new organisation, the use of ASRF funds to set up this organisation, how it will benefit you as a rodder, how it will benefit custom, cl***ic and muscle car enthusiasts, the way in which these changes have been pushed through, the lack of consultation and representation then you definitely need to make your opinion heard, if not as an individual as a club. As you can see, a question put to all Aussie hot rodders asking for information and/or a response from the ASRF. Of course, as no-one in the ASRF appears to be able to work a computer (or a telephone for that matter), no response was forthcoming. The debate ran for about a week and made lots of valid points. Then the lawyers showed up and ****ed up the whole thing. End of story.
