I have a reasonably serviceable interior in my 32 Tudor, but the fabric has been damaged by water and other items. Has anyone any experience in dyeing fabrics? The present color is a kinda light brown, and I'd like to make it dark grey, if possible?
    Thanks for any help

Sem is a good product and used it several times when I was in the furniture upholstery business. Their vinyl products work even better.

  4. I used it on fabric and vynil. The trick on fabric is to brush it in with a stiff nylon brush.

  5. i have just used the sem. i first used it on some seats. and i didnt like it. but i did use it on a smoothed out plastic dash and with clearcoat it did come out pretty good.

i used that duplicolor interior vinyl die on my seats with good results. last a good while.

  6. t man is right about the brush. i just dyed a set of fabric seats as well and the brush helps alot.

Do you brush before or after spraying?

When its completely dry or straight afterspraying?

I have some fabric to dye so this info could prove very helpful!!

    Good timeing!

    Thanks all
Where do I find this SEM stuff?

  9. i got my sem paint at a paint shop. your near me jimmy. i got it at B & Z autocolor. here in stockton.

stev. i do both actualy. it helps to do it after cause it softens the fabric. after you dye it its pretty rought to touch. after you brush it it softens it up. but i brush it all one way, dye it and then brush it another way, then dye it. i found if you dont some of the old color is noticable when you move the hairs in the fabric. so brushing it before and after helps. now its soft and cant even tell my fabric seats used to be khaki

Hooligan, I'm up above Sacramento. Guess I'll try a few paint places, thanks. Do you spray this stuff, or brush it on?
    Thanks
