Need To Know What Nail Head Will Bolt In To A 1957 Buick Wagon And What Nail Head Parts Would Interchange. The Car Has A Cracked Block Need To Drop In A New Engine. If Someone Has SOME INFO OR One For Sale
First it was capital letters for every word know caps lock. Take a little time and write like normal human being. As far as your wagon it came with a 364 nailhead any 364 401-425 will fit. You have a closed drive shaft so to keep it simple find one with a dynaflow not a sp400 or you will have to change rear ends drive shaft and ..... Try using the search function on the board it will answer most of you questions
All i started out doing was askihg a simple question and thought i would get a simple answer instead i got a bunch of people with far to much time on there hands. to me and all the normal people typing caps means you are typing in caps. I am a car guy not a sit on a computer and not build any cars guy.so go get in your honda and go to jiffy lube. And thanks to the one guy that had some info on the question i had.
The bellhousing bolt pattern is the same for '57 through '66, but the crankshaft is different for the Turbo 400 trans. used on '64 to '66 401s and 425s. Happy motoring, Frank

The Nailhead T400 ****** was also used in full size Jeeps until 1973 or so. If you want to make it 4 wheel drive............
It's easy to add the 400 to an earlier motor Carmen Faso sells the bushing and then you just enlarge the hole in the 400 flexplate to fit the early crank...
Damn talk about a stupid newbie.... I think I hear an *** whuppin' coming on..... do yourself a favor and take a hike..
