model A:Bought the "F2" in a big basket for $400.00,less engine.Just finished the 351C,so it was the obvoice choice for the "F2".Two years of rubbing & it was on the road.Got an offer for $23,000! Not bad for a $6,000.00 investment [plus 1500 hours] Then the guy that sold the "F2" called & said I could have the flat motor & 4 spd. I replaced the late model 3 spd. in my roadster with that neat spur geared 4 spd. I'm 71 & the flat motor in my '23 roadster came out of my hi-school car! And that '88 ranger[flathead express] is cool, believe me.

At 71 and still building, you can do what you want as far as I'm concerned. A flattie in a Ranger makes me cringe but your happy right? It's unique for sure. Welcome aboard. And the fact that most of the stuff on the truck is home grown. Pretty cool.

LOW:I did everything on this project except boring the block & grinding the valves. I even upholstered the seat! I wanted to go racing again & the ranger is a great platform for a lower h.p. engine [about 175],& because it's lite[liter now],its got a short wheel base & the best thing, it was freeeeeee!.............flathead ranger
