I read in another post that someone thought the Decatur Swap Meet was canceled. That is not the case.

It is this weekend Feb. 24~27.

This is our 30th year and we have added more spaces from the 3400 we had last year. It is selling out fast. We were working on it Saturday (19th) and people were coming in all the time to buy spaces. Weather reports are saying no rain Saturday and only a 30 percent chance Friday.

Parking is provided by two different groups and we have nothing to do with it. I would not suggest parking on the side of the road as both the Decatur Police and the State Highway Patrol will be writing tickets same as last year, and I hear it about $80 bucks.

I will be at the South Gate early Friday morning and Saturday morning and spots U109 U110.

Decatur is located on Highway 287/81 and Highway 380.

If you were coming up from Round Rock stay on I-35W through Ft Worth then take the Decatur exit onto 287/81.

Exit on Highway 51 in Decatur and go South/West on 51 it's about a mile down 51 you can't miss it.

Decatur is about 5K in population and the swap meet can bring in up to 25K on a nice Saturday.

Coming up 380 from Denton, take 287 south to 51 about a mile go past the Walmart and about a mile south west on 51.

A lot of vendors will show up tomorrow (Thursday), but the swap meet starts at 6:00 AM Friday and goes till 4 or 5 PM Sunday.

Thursday night starting a 5:00 PM we have the vendors cornbread and beans dinner.

Friday is the day all the vendors seem to buy from each other. Saturday is when the really big crowds will be there.

I haven't been to this swap in years; remember it as being a very good one. I'll see if I can sneak out.

This is one of the better Texas swap meets,my favorite one.I liked the old pate, mud up to your knees.Decater is not that muddy,it has a lot of gr*** & white rock. That sounds kind of wild,& no you can't use the Gr*** or Rocks.

    Hey gr*** hopper,
I drove up there last year and it is worth the drive, came home broke and ready to rumble with the wife because ot it. It's worth it though. Just cover up from the cold, take an umbrella just in case and be ready to walk cause its big place.

I don't really know any of you yet, but if you see a black 63 Galaxy 500, a 63 Rambler with a 302 in it, a 48-52 Ford F1 cab, a blue 55 Chevy pickup that will be me and two of my cousins. Those are all their cars and trucks. I think we have like 4 or 5 spaces. I just have some misc small stuff. I am looking for parts for my F1 more than anything and hangin out helping them.

I went yeaterday and I am thinking about going back today after something I wanted and the guy was closed when I got back. If I don't see you there you have to go into the back of that one barn by the lunch stand a go all the way to the back. there is a set of the coolest wheels. Something that was made in Ft.Worth I guuess but they have the center caps cast right into the spiders so it is just a smooth bullit. I picked up a pair of 15 inch radirs for 5 bucks.
Call me if you want to ride up together. I'd like to leave here by 8. I want to bring back a cowl and sport coupe back end and maybe another cowl, hood, grille ect.

Or PM me, I'll keep an eye on the board this morning.

I saw a set of Cal custom style no name covers, nice but $85. I picked up a decent set of Weiands with offenhauser breathers that are trading stock.
