How does a 3-4 year old car today compare to a Model T? And any rebuild back then that got you a couple thousand more miles was all that was expected. I'm guessing, a set of rings, lap the valves, new lining on first gear, adjust the bands and out the door. I know, you still couldn't do it with todays shop rates, but the mechanics back then lived more modestly I guess.

Some of us nerds are not on here every second. Thanks for the post. I would like to know if $25 inflated to $318.50 what did the price of a Model T overhual inflate to? I know you could'nt get pistons and rings for $89.18.

You said 10 posts. Regardless, I don't think you realize that not everyone camps here. Looks like you are getting defensive and probably with reason. You've been outvoted on this one. I'm sure your next target is just around the corner anyway. Let's move on.
