roadster weather in minnesota and the Rocky 33 gets a garage mate

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by 36-3window, Feb 24, 2005.

  1. a freind of mine , a non-Hamber and current owner of the famous Rocky 33 , put this together over the winter with help from his son ..34cpe5w

it has a boxed original frame , 8" rear , pete & jakes front hairpins and rear ladder bars , magnum 5" dropped axle , 16" wheels with 4.50 and 7.50 tires and a well used 327/350

we just couldn't resist going for a test drive today, with the temp up to a mild 23 degrees.

sorry for the poor picture, it's the only one that came out with my cheap crappy camera

    what do you all think?

It works for me!!! I would have thought a 5" axle would be too much but that looks perfect.

Nice roadster, I bet that was a cold ride. I wondered what happened to Rocky's 33. Glad to see it's still around. later shawn

Awesome car! I like everything about it. I do kinda feel like an Army Surplus wool blanket might be more appropriate so far away from the southern border, though.

Any plans for paint or is it just going to remain au naturale?

Now I know why I did not get my '33 done, cuz I had to work on Dad's car!

Looks like you had a good time out. See ya soon.

  17. i don't know anything about it , it wasn't me....i beleive several different people were driving it that week end

i know how it feels not to get credit....a `32 ford 5-window i built for a guy was there too..being driven by the son of the guy i buillt it for,he told everybody he built it , and did they have any questions about the car? he did this right in front of me several times! until someone DID have a question..which he couldn't answer....he turned to me to bail him out, i walked away.. with him looking like the idiot he is

the actual owner is a stand up guy , real easy going....and admits to everyone he just paid to have it built

That car is perfect. I love the stance and the finish. One built like that with a chassis (flathead) like Tardel and Bishop put under Bluey would be a killer combination to.
